Annenberg Center Live And NextMove Dance Announce Co-Presenting Partnership

Annenberg Center Live and NextMove Dance have announced a new co-presenting partnership that will consolidate contemporary dance productions under one roof at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Pennsylvania. In the 2018-19 season, Annenberg Center Live and NextMove Dance will present 11 dance ensembles for Philadelphia audiences: Circa, Spectrum Dance Theater, Jessica Lang Dance, Caleb Teicher & Company, Martha Graham Dance Company, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Dance Heginbotham, Union Tanguera + Kate Weare Company, Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers, BODYTRAFFIC, and Parsons Dance. Subscriptions to the 2018-19 season dance series are on sale now at AnnenbergCenter.org or 215.898.3900. Single tickets will go on sale in July.

L.O.V.E.R. A Funny Coming Of Age Journey Comes to The Zephyr Theatre

Accomplished actress Lois Robbins takes us on a poignant and comic journey as one woman explores her sexual history, in what ultimately becomes her coming of age story, L.O.V.E.R. Directed by Sonia Sebastian, L.O.V.E.R. opens on April 13, running through May 12 at the Zephyr Theatre on Melrose Avenue.

Alec Baldwin and Kelli O'Hara starred in Westport Country Playhouse's Spring Gala performance of A. R. Gurney's play, “Love Letters,” on Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m. The one-night-only fundraising event honored the memory of playwright A. R. “Pete” Gurney, who was a consistent contributor to the Playhouse stage, with 21 works produced there from 1980 through 2016. Gurney died last June at age 86.

The Comedy About a Bank Robbery celebrate their second birthday amidst a tsunami of laughter. The new cast members shine while the veterans have the comedy locked down to perfection. 'Everyone is a crook' in Minneapolis in the late 50s, so when City Bank is entrusted with protecting a diamond worth half a million dollars, escaped convict Mitch Ruscitti sets off to steal it. Love triangles, mistaken identities, and various unfortunate gimmicks lead the characters on a laugh-out-loud adventure.

Sharon Small To Star In UK Tour Of STILL ALICE

Michael Park announces that, following a hugely successful three-week run at West Yorkshire Playhouse earlier this year, Christine Mary Dunford's newly adapted version of Lisa Genova's best-selling novel, STILL ALICE, will tour the UK from September 2018, directed by David Grindley and starring Sharon Small as Alice. The tour will open at the Sheffield Lyceum from 12 to 15 September and will play Richmond Theatre from 18 to 22 September, King's Theatre Edinburgh from 25 to 29 September, Norwich Theatre Royal from 2 to 6 October the Yvonne Arnaud, Guildford from 9 to 13 October and Festival Theatre, Malvern from 20 to 24 November. Further venues and casting are to be announced.

Benedict Cumberbatch to Perform in New York Premiere of LETTERS LIVE

LETTERS LIVE is delighted to announce Benedict Cumberbatch as the first confirmed performer for its New York debut engagement on May 18 & 19, 2018, at The Town Hall. Performances begin at 8pm ET and will run for 2 hours and 20 minutes with a 20 intermission. The Town Hall is located at 123 West 43rd Street, between Sixth Avenue and Broadway, in midtown Manhattan. Additional celebrity cast members will join Cumberbatch for these events. Some will be announced prior, the rest will be a surprise on the nights.

BWW Review: PERICLES, PRINCE DE TYR, Barbican

Cheek by Jowl began life in 1981, first producing plays in English before branching out to other languages; their current production of Shakespeare's Pericles is performed in French, which has recently embarked on a tour that includes Oxford, Naples, Madrid, and several venues in France, stopping for a few weeks now at the Silk Street theatre at the Barbican Centre in London. It's a rarely played piece, though there is also due to be another production by the National Theatre over the summer.
