2018 ADF Announces Lineup for Week #4

The American Dance Festival (ADF) kicks off week #4 with the return of Tere O'Connor Dance performing the ADF-commissioned Long Run. The North Carolina Museum of Art once again partners with ADF to present Dana Ruttenberg Dance Group's witty, interactive Naba 2.0. The Carolina Theater stage will be the scene of five spectacular solos by Michelle Dorrance, Rhapsody James, Yabin Wang, Aparna Ramaswamy, and Camille A. Brown in the Wondrous Women program. The talented ADF faculty will present work at Reynolds Industries Theater. ADF's Movies by Movers continues its summer screenings, and ADF School Tours offer a glimpse into the world of dancers-in-training.

The Argyle Theatre Announces The Cast And Creative Team For HAIRSPRAY

Long Island's newest theatrical venue The Argyle Theatre (Evan Pappas, Artistic Director) presents the Tony Award winning hit Broadway musical Hairspray with book by Marc O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman at The Argyle Theatre (34 West Main Street, Babylon, Long Island).  Performances are set to begin Thursday, July 12, 2018 for a limited run through Sunday, August 26, 2018.

Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (PCTF), the brainchild of arts professional  Glory Kadigan, turns 10 years old. Known for its engaging and empowering series of plays every summer, the festivity is also celebrated for presenting  readings of new works by some of Ny's most prominent writers of independent theater.

WILL ON THE HILL Raises $500,000 For Shakespeare Theatre Company

The West Wing's Melissa Fitzgerald, Broadway actor Heath Saunders, Emery Battis Award-winner Victoria Frings and Ken Clark, currently playing King Arthur in Camelot at STC, recently joined Members of Congress and notable Washingtonians onto the stage at Sidney Harman Hall to perform in Will on the Hill. Now in its sixteenth year, the much-loved bipartisan event took place on June 11 and raised $500,000 for the theatre's education and community outreach programs.

Bay Area Cabaret Announces Matthew Morrison, Kate Baldwin, Gavin Creel, LaChanze, and More

Bay Area Cabaret announces its 15th Anniversary Season of shows, its ninth at the legendary Venetian Room (Fairmont Hotel 950 Mason Street atop Nob Hill). This season's stellar lineup features many performers making their Bay Area Cabaret debuts, as well as the return of several favorites. It kicks off on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 7:00 pm with the San Francisco solo concert debut of Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe award-nominee Matthew Morrison (Glee, Hairspray, South Pacific, Finding Neverland).

TEEN CHOICE 2018 Kicks Off Summer with Second and Final Wave of Nominees

The second and final wave of TEEN CHOICE TM 2018 nominees have been announced and music artists Cardi B and Selena Gomez lead with four nominations each. In film, "The Greatest Showman," "Black Panther" and "Solo: A Star Wars Story" each received four nods. "Riverdale" leads in television with seven nominations, while "Stranger Things" follows with five and "The Bold Type" with four.

Irreverent HAND TO GOD Shakes Things Up This July at Jungle Theater

The Jungle Theater's 2018 summer show is a Jungle coup - the Twin Cities premiere of the rowdy, award-winning Broadway hit, HAND TO GOD, opening July 21. One of the most produced plays of 2016-17, Hand to God features a mild-mannered teen and his spectacularly foul-mouthed puppet in a fast-paced comedic exploration of the fragile nature of faith, morality and the ties that bind. Directed by Jungle Resident Director Christina Baldwin, the "darkly delightful" play (NY Times) runs through August 19 at the Lyn-Lake neighborhood theater, located at 2951 Lyndale Ave. S. in Minneapolis. 

Comedy Company Face Off Unlimited Hires Whit Baldwin As Company Manager For BATSU! NYC

BATSU! NYC, the original "East Village Sensation" (Asian Fusion) live Japanese Game Show has a new Company Manager and they didn't have to go far to find him. One of the most senior performers in the NYC production is Whit Baldwin, who after joining the cast just a few weeks after the show opened in January of 2011, has become a leader both on and off the stage. Having served as the "Captain of the Captains" over the last year or so, Mr. Baldwin has now been officially named Company Manager.

LinkNYC, DoITT Announce Content Partnership With The Museum Of The City Of New York

LinkNYC and the Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications (DoITT) today announced a content partnership with the Museum of the City of New York, extending the Museum's extensive archive of photography and historic moments to the streets of New York through the Link network. A new campaign called Summer in the City to launch June 21st will feature images from the Museum's current exhibition, Through a Different Lens: Stanley Kubrick Photographs, which highlights the iconic film director's formative years in New York City as a photographer for Look magazine between 1945-1950.
