Deadline reports that USA Network has canceled its paramedic comedy series SIRENS, from Fox 21 TV Studios, Denis Leary and Bob Fisher. 

The first Broadway revival of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Wendy Wasserstein play The Heidi Chronicles officially opened last night, March 19, 2015, at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Aya Cash ('You're the Worst' on FX), Carl Lundstedt (Freaks: a legend about growing up), and Luke Macfarlane ('Brothers and Sisters' on ABC) will star in the world premiere of Reverberation by Matthew Lopez from today, February 19 to March 15 at Hartford Stage. Associate Artistic Director Maxwell Williams (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike) will direct.

According to The Courant, Carnegie Mellon alum Carl Lundstedt and television stars Luke Macfarlane and Aya Cash will star in Matthew Lopez's upcoming premiere of REVERBERATION at Hartford Stage.

USA Network brings back two dynamic series in January. From Creator and Executive Producer Aaron Korsh, the critically acclaimed drama SUITS returns on Wednesday, January 28 at 10/9c for the remainder of its 4th season.

The fourth and final reading in Studio 42's 2014 Reading Series will be Clickshare by Lucas Kavner (Carnival Kids) and directed my Studio 42 Artistic Director Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God). The reading will take place at 7pm on November 23rd at A.R.T/NY.

Still a little scarred after FX cancelled one of my favorite television comedies, LEGIT, I was skeptical to check out any new shows. Even though I've been a faithful fan of THE LEAGUE for years, I doubted their decision making after losing such a gem. When I saw the preview for YOU'RE THE WORST, it amused me. But hey, trailers have led to disappointment before. What a delightful surprise.

X and FXX Networks have locked in the summer premiere dates for new and returning original series, including the highly anticipated new original dramas Tyrant and The Strain, as well as new comedies Married and You're the Worst. The scheduling announcements were made today by Chuck Saftler, President of Program Strategy and COO, FX Networks.

FX Productions (FXP) has closed a new, three-year overall production deal with Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton and their RCG Productions in a significant pact that includes an additional two-season order of their hit FXX comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

FX has ordered 13 episodes of the comedy series The Comedians, starring Billy Crystal and Josh Gad, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long present the world premiere of Ode to Joy, written and directed by Craig Lucas, which just opened last night at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. The cast features Kathryn Erbe ('Law & Order: Criminal Intent'), Roxanna Hope (Frost/Nixon) and Arliss Howard (Moneyball, Natural Born Killers). Last night Atlantic Theater Company presented their annual Gala at The Pierre (2 East 61st Street). Directed by Neil Pepe with musical direction by Matt Gallagher, Writers' Choice saluted Atlantic's iconic playwrights with an evening of unexpected songs. For this year's Gala, Atlantic asked alumni playwrights to choose a favorite song and a favorite musician to perform it. Writers' Choice featured special tributes to Annie Baker, Martha Clarke, Stephen Adly Guirgis, David Mamet, Conor McPherson, and Doug Wright from presenters and performers Jonathan Cake, Bridget Everett, John Gallagher Jr., Rick Holmes, Brian D'Arcy James, Gary Jules, John Kelly, Zosia Mamet, Julianne Nicholson, Laura Osnes, Michael Park, Mary Beth Peil and Isiah Whitlock, Jr. among others. In her terrific new play TRUDY AND MAX IN LOVE---now having its World Premiere performances at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa through January 29---writer-actress Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks) puts an engaging millennial spin on the typical cute-boy-meets-cute-girl story. While, true, the situations---and the complications---presented here feel somewhat familiar to the genre, the dramedy's enjoyable execution---particularly in the hands of its impressive cast of superb actors---make it, ultimately, a captivating play that's winsomely fresh and oh-so-current.
