Center Repertory Company?s Artistic Director Michael Butler unveiled the company's 43rd subscription season. Running from September 3, 2009 to June 26, 2010, the season will be expanding Center Rep?s programming to include eight productions to be performed in all three theatres of the Lesher Center for the Arts. From the suspense of Agatha Christie to the music of Elvis Presley, Center Rep?s 09-10 season will delight audiences while also featuring the works of Caryl Churchill, No?l Coward, Reduced Shakespeare Company, Michael Frayn and five-time Emmy Award nominee Harold Gould. Along the way, RSC captured nominations for London's Olivier Award, two Helen Hayes Awards in Washington, D.C., and international appearances at the White House, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Seattle Repertory Theatre, and American Repertory Theatre. International tours included stops in Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Malta, Belgium, The Netherlands, Singapore, Bermuda and Barbados.
The Reduced Shakespeare Company unleash theatrical anarchy on the main stage at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted, with previews beginning October 2, opening October 7 and 9 and running through December 2 for Chicago premieres of two comedies: Completely Hollywood (abridged), opening Sunday, October 7 at 3 pm, and The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged), opening Tuesday, October 9 at 8 pm.
