Devil You Know Theatre Company presents a thrilling new version of one of Shakespeare's most famous tragedies, charting the bloody rise and downfall of the legendary warrior Macbeth.

Following a critically acclaimed run at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe the Royal Court Theatre presents the Baxter Theatre Centre at the University of Cape Town's production of The Fall in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs for a limited three week run, Tuesday 26 September 2017 - Saturday 14 October 2017

The 2017 United Solo festival includes the award-winning 'Finding Fellini' theater production in September and October this year.

Lantern Theater Company will launch its 24th season with the regional premiere of Red Velvet, Lolita Chakrabarti's stirring play based on the true story of 19th century actor Ira Aldridge, who made history as the first African-American actor to portray Othello in 1833 London. Longtime Lantern artistic collaborator Peter DeLaurier will direct a cast that includes Tony Award nominee Forrest McClendon as Ira Aldridge, with David Bardeen, Damon Bonetti, Liz Filios, Adam Hammet, David Pica, Ebony Pullum, and Lauren Sowa. The Market Theatre production of Paul Slabolepszy's SUDDENLY THE STORM is currently in the middle of its Cape Town season at the Baxter Theatre. Having opened just two days after the Naledi Theatre Awards presented the play and its production with three awards, SUDDENLY THE STORM arrived in Cape Town a pedigree compounded by the fact that this is the prolific Slabolepszy's first new play since 2009.

Errol Philander, a black African and local principal, has been sneaking into the library at night for secret assignations with a white librarian, Frieda Joubert. We see them one night as they share their hopes and fears until they are discovered by police; Their love is illegal under apartheid and they are arrested. Fugard writes the second half of the play as a surreal poem - unwrapping the psychological effects of institutional racism and exposing the characters innermost fears.

Award-winning actor, comic and musician Sne Dladla possesses an irresistible charm and raw talent and will soon star in ICHAMELEON, presented by Nik Rabinowitz and directed by Loukmaan Adams. The show runs at the Baxter's Golden Arrow Studio until 8 July.

The Suitcase brings together a unique partnership of venues in the North of England and the Market Theatre Johannesburg, marking the internationally renowned theatre company's return to the UK after a five year absence.
