The Broadway community mourns the loss of prominent producer Ashton Springer, who passed away on July 15th at age 92. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in his memory on Wednesday, July 24th, at exactly 8:00 p.m. for one minute.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Broadway producer Ashton Springer passed away today, July 15, at the Sarah Neuman Center in Mamaroneck, New York from pneumonia. He was 82 years old.

We've learned that 'Bubbling Brown Sugar' is hoping to head back to Broadway in 2011, according to Broadway producer, Ashton Springer, who was one of the producers of the show the first time around in 1976.
