Now playing through November fourth, 'West Side Story' is gracing the stage at Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre. Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' is transported to mid-1950's New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs. Their struggle is one of the most heart-wrenching musicals of our time - and Tri-Valley's presentation of this classic is, to say the least, reborn.

The Broadway National tour of the smash hit Broadway revival WEST SIDE STORY is coming to Portland, Maine. WEST SIDE STORY will open at Merrill Auditorium on November 9th and will be in town for three performances; November 9th at 8pm and November 10th at 2pm and 8pm. Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction is recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

Creator Josh Johnston writes: 'What she and I have collaborated on is our effort to show aspiring performers and fans of the arts what it's like in the shoes of a veteran of the craft: everything from the Sunset lows to the Rainbow Highs of performing, Patti LuPone has seen and lived it all.' According to the Daily Mail, Imelda Staunton will play Mama Rose in the Chichester Festival production of Gypsy, directed by Jonathan Kent, next fall in 2013. The show has not been seen on the West End for more than 30 years.

Lancaster's Fulton Theatre opens its 160th season with a sparkling production of the classic show-biz musical.

The historic Fulton Theatre in downtown Lancaster launches its 2012/2013 season with Gypsy, often held up by critics as the best book musical written in the 20th century. Gypsy is loosely based on the memoirs of vaudeville and burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee, with music by Jule Styne, lyrics Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurents. It features some of the best-known and loved musical songs, such as 'Everything's Coming up Roses,' 'Some People,' 'Let Me Entertain You' and 'Rose's Turn.'
