Today, Friday, February 19, Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops announced details of the orchestra's 125th anniversary season, May 4-June 20, 2010, outlining programs that celebrate the orchestra's rich tradition of performing the great music of this country's past and present, for which the Boston Pops is so well known.

On October 15, 2010, The New York Pops orchestra - famous for presenting popular music with a symphony orchestra of the highest quality - will launch its 28th season; a Carnegie Hall series celebrating the stylistic diversity of some of popular music's greatest icons. Music Director Steven Reineke leads the orchestra in this electrifying season, which includes chart-topping pop hits, a tribute to the greatest living lyricist and composer of American musical theater, holiday favorites, sizzling Latin flair, and an evening of songbook classics associated with a legendary American icon. Reineke has been heralded by The New York Times as 'young and vigorous, with a playful attitude that has been a pops orchestral tradition since the heyday of Arthur Fiedler...a polished, welcoming host.'

One would think that the man who conducts the Boston Pops, the Utah Symphony and is the Artistic Advisor of the Summer Institute and Music Festival of the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina to be pretty apathetic about Christmas music by the time fruitcake season rolls along, but that's not true with Keith Lockhart.

Bebe Neuwirth Hosts Chamber Dance Project Benefit Dec.6

The Chamber Dance Project announced that its 2007 repertory season will include two world premiere ballets by Diane Coburn Bruning and Matthew Prescott, a commissioned score by Giovanni Spinelli, and two contemporary ballets by Victor Quijada and Adam Hougland. The season, which runs December 6 - 9, opens with a Benefit Performance and party hosted by Bebe Neuwirth. All performances will take place at the Ailey Citigroup Theater.
