Theatrical Rockers Set Concert at Mercury Lounge 2/9

The Bushwick Starr presnts the world premiere of Cute Activist, a new play by Milo Cramer, directed by Morgan Green, and produced in collaboration with their exciting young company, New Saloon (Minor Character), in association with Clubbed Thumb. Highly anticipated after New Saloon's popular production of Minor Character, Cute Activist is a playfully fabulist, wildly satirical, anti-romantic comedy, that asks questions about the way activism fits - or doesn't fit - into our daily lives. In a spoOoOoky town in mythical Connecticut where inequality reigns, a shadowy ring of part-time activists battle a baroque, tyrannical Landlorde. Only True Love's Kiss can save the local economy. Cute Activist is a pastel fable full of earnest questions about how to engage politically, at an everyday level, as a normal-feeling civilian.

Sinking Ship Productions is thrilled to return to NYC with their production A HUNGER ARTIST, adapted from the story by Franz Kafka. The entirely youth run Eternal Theatre Collective presents the Canadian Premiere of SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN by Steven Levenson (Dear Evan Hansen), at Studio 16 from March 7 - 10, 2018.

The Associates present the world premiere of SHEILA, created and written by The Associates, and directed by Jamal Abdunnasir. SHEILA runs from January 12 - 27, 2018 in a limited engagement at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres, located at 502 West 53rd Street between 10th and 11th Avenues in New York City. Previews begin January 12 for a January 14 opening.

The 13th Annual Goodspeed Festival of New Musicals, produced by Goodspeed Musicals' Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre, kicks off its much-anticipated three-day festival of brand-new works today, January 12, 2018 at The Goodspeed with a staged reading of the rousing new musical Five Points by Ethan D. BroadwayHD announces today that Thom Pain, the Geffen Playhouse's filmed adaptation of its stage production of Will Eno's lauded play Thom Pain (based on nothing) starring Rainn Wilson ('The Office,' founder of Soul Pancake), will be available on BroadwayHD beginning January 11, 2018.

Cult-hit Brooklyn rockers Sky-Pony are known for their themed live shows -- 'a beautiful mash-up of music, choreography, costumes, projections and drama' (Village Voice). On Friday February 9, they'll serve up their latest themed concert, 'Candyland', at NYC's Mercury Lounge. Expect a healthy dose of their lush, lyrical, cheeky indie-pop along with a carnival of candy-sweet theatrics -- there will be ring pops, live projection art, and a ball pit. Really.
