Mitchell Jarvis and Natascia Diaz Star in Signature Theatre's THE THREEPENNY OPERA, Beg. Tonight

Virginia's Tony-Award winning Signature Theatre announces the cast for The Threepenny Opera, Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's cutting and enduring critique of capitalism and corruption. Directed by Signature Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Tender Napalm, Dreamgirls, Really Really), the production stars Mitchell Jarvis (Broadway's Rock of Ages) as the charismatic Macheath, known to popular culture as Mack the Knife.

Cheyenne Jackson, Alexandra Silber and More Star in San Francisco Symphony's New Live Recording of WEST SIDE STORY; Set for Digital Release 5/20

Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas (MTT) and the San Francisco Symphony (SFS) will release a new live recording of the first-ever concert performances of Leonard Bernstein's complete score for the musical West Side Story featuring a stellar Broadway cast including Cheyenne Jackson and Alexandra Silber, and the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, on June 10, 2014.

Nominees for The Orpheum's 5th Annual High School Musical Theatre Awards Announced

The Orpheum Theatre has announced the nominees for the 2014 High School Musical Theatre Awards. Modeled after the Tony Awards, The Orpheum's High School Musical Theatre Awards recognizes achievements in all areas of high school musical theatre. This event is part of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards program which includes 30 programs from across the country.

Playwright Paul Downs Colaizzo made a name for himself during New York City's 2012-13 season when the MCC presented his play REALLY REALLY. When it premiered in 2012 at The Signature Theatre, it garnered a ton of buzz, selling out the entire run. In New York, the run was extended twice and also sold out the entire run. Now, Black Lab Theatre is producing an exhilaratingly intense production of the play for Houston audiences to enjoy.

Neon Trees and More Set to Perform at 21st Annual Radio 92.9 EarthFest on 5/17

American alternative rock band Neon Trees will headline the 21st annual Radio 92.9 EarthFest, scheduled for May 17, 2014 at the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation's Hatch Memorial Shell in Boston. Presented by Whole Foods Market, the family-friendly festival is the largest free radio station concert in the country, showcasing national and local music acts, environmentally friendly products and local non-profit environmental organizations.

Ben Edquist, Arlo Hill and Natalie Ballenger Named Winners of 2014 LOTTE LENYA COMPETITION

Ben Edquist, of Houston, won the $15,000 First Prize in the finals of the 2014 Lotte Lenya Competition, sponsored by the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music and held on April 12, 2014, in Kilbourn Hall of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y. Arlo Hill, of New York, won the Second Prize of $10,000, and the Third Prize of $7,500 was awarded to Natalie Ballenger, also of New York.

Music fans turned out in droves today when tickets became available for the largest celebration in country music history, selling out 70,000 tickets IN 18 MINUTES for BOTH the 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, Country Music's Party of the Year on April 19, 2015 from AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AND for ACM Party for a Cause: 50 Years of Music & Memories on April 17-18, 2015 at Globe Life Park, home of the Texas Rangers, in Arlington, Texas. The events were the biggest—and fastest—selling in the Academy's history.

Skid Row to Kick Off Tour With Black Star Riders, 5/8; 'United World Rebellion – Part 2' EP Out 8/5

SKID ROW--Johnny Solinger (vocals), Scotti Hill (guitar), Rachel Bolan (bass), Snake Sabo (guitar) and Rob Hammersmith (drums)-will be a long way from home throughout the summer. First, the band is teaming up with Black Star Riders for a brief tour of the west coast, which starts May 8 in Tucson, AZ at the Rialto Theatre. Once that concludes on May 16, the band will play headlining shows across the U.S., including a stop at the legendary Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, May 17 and an appearance at this year's Rocklahoma festival on May 23 in Pryor, OK. They'll then head to Europe in June for various festivals, including the Download Festival in Donington, England on June 14. Once the U.S. trek concludes in July, SKID ROW will head to Kostrzyn, Poland, where they've been invited to headline one of the biggest festivals in Europe, the Woodstock Festival Poland on July 31.
