Round House Theatre to Present ORDINARY DAYS, 5/28-6/22

Ordinary Days, an acclaimed new musical by Adam Gwon, brings Round House's 2013/2014 season to a harmonious close as it makes its area premiere. Signature Theatre's Matthew Gardiner makes his Round House directing debut with this Off-Broadway hit by one of musical theater's most exciting new composers. Ordinary Days runs at Round House Theatre Bethesda from May 28 thru June 22. Opening night is Monday, June 2, 2014.

Seattle Rep Sets June 2nd Memorial for Artistic Director Jerry Manning

A memorial service has been set to celebrate the life of Seattle Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Jerry Manning, who died at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle on Apr. 30 due to complications from surgery for a congenital heart defect. An all-around theatre practitioner, Jerry was a beloved leader, director, producer, mentor and friend. Well-regarded by his peers, he was known for his biting sense of humor, irascible spirit, and sharp mind. He was 58.

VisArts to Host 'Full Fathom Five: Going Deeper,' Featuring Alison Sigethy and Liz Lescault

Skid Row Kicks Off Tour With Black Star Riders Today

SKID ROW--Johnny Solinger (vocals), Scotti Hill (guitar), Rachel Bolan (bass), Snake Sabo (guitar) and Rob Hammersmith (drums)-will be a long way from home throughout the summer. First, the band is teaming up with Black Star Riders for a brief tour of the west coast, which starts today, May 8 in Tucson, AZ at the Rialto Theatre. Once that concludes on May 16, the band will play headlining shows across the U.S., including a stop at the legendary Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, May 17 and an appearance at this year's Rocklahoma festival on May 23 in Pryor, OK. They'll then head to Europe in June for various festivals, including the Download Festival in Donington, England on June 14. Once the U.S. trek concludes in July, SKID ROW will head to Kostrzyn, Poland, where they've been invited to headline one of the biggest festivals in Europe, the Woodstock Festival Poland on July 31.

STAGE TUBE: On This Day 5/6- GLORY DAYS

Today in 2008, Glory Days opened at the Circle in the Square Theatre, where it ran for one performance. Glory Days is a musical with music and lyrics by Nick Blaemire and a book by James Gardiner about four high school friends reuniting a year after graduation. The musical premiered at the Signature Theatre, a professional regional theatre in Arlington, Virginia, from January 15 through February 17, 2008, where it was directed by Eric D. Schaeffer, the Artistic Director of the theatre, with musical staging by assistant director Matthew Gardiner. The producers cited 'low advance sales' in announcing the show's closing.
