John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation, starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train), Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') and Corey Hawkins(Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy'), directed by Trip Cullman(Significant Other, Yen), officially opened last night, April 25, at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). As previously announced, Second Stage Theatre will begin the 2017 Uptown Series with the world premiere of Chisa Hutchinson's SOMEBODY'S DAUGHTER, directed by MAY ADRALES.

The Public Theater presents the world premiere of Ethan Lipton's The Outer Space, directed by Leigh Silverman. THE OUTER SPACE opened just last night, March 8 in Joe's Pub at The Public. The Outer Space features music composed and performed by Ethan Lipton, Vito Dieterle, Eben Levy, and Ian M. Riggs. 

MCC Theater announced today complete casting for its one-night-only benefit reading of Neil LaBute's play, Fat Pig, directed by LaBute, to be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 7PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street).

SHOWTIME will present the world premiere of its highly anticipated new one-hour drama series I'M DYING UP HERE at the South by Southwest® (SXSW) Film Festival on Wednesday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m. in the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas

MCC Theater has extended its critically acclaimed production of Anna Jordan's YEN through March 4, 2017. It was previously scheduled through February 19, 2017.

SHOWTIME has announced the airdates for its two highly-anticipated new series GUERRILLA and I'M DYING UP HERE.

Early on the morning of November 19, Donald Trump took to Twitter (as he has a tendency to do) to make the assertion that "The Theater must always be a safe and special place." On December 19, one month to the day after Trump's Broadway-fueled Twitter deluge, Liz Meriwether and Shira Milikowsky put on A SAFE AND SPECIAL PLACE, an evening of works written and performed by some of the theater's best and most promising talents. The event, held within the atmospheric walls of the McKittrick Hotel and which benefited The Trevor Project and Kids in Need of Defense was, as you could guess, anything but what Trump would deem "safe and special."
