New York's beloved Dance Theatre of Harlem, under the artistic direction of Virginia Johnson, returns to NY City Center for its annual homecoming season tonight, April 4, the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with the annual Vision Gala, honoring dance legend Carmen de Lavallade and civil rights icon Xernona Clayton.

Mark Berman, renowned pianist and composer, presents his power jazz trio at starry jazz club Club Bonafide, 212 East 52nd Street, Friday April 6 at 8 pm. Berman, on piano, will feature his original songs as well as his jazz arrangements of pop tunes, standards and new works. Berman is joined by David Richards (Hamilton) on bass and Joe Nero (Peter Cincotti) on drums.

Jason Robert Brown is a composer, lyricist, and conductor known for his work such as The Last Five Years, Bridges of Madison County and Parade. As part of Jazz Appreciation Month, Governor Doug Ducey has issued an official proclamation declaring April 2018 as Jazz Appreciation Month and April 30, 2018 as International Jazz Appreciation Day.  Representing Governor Doug Ducey to present the Proclamation was Barry Wong, Director of the Governor's Office of Equal Opportunity.  Mr. Wong read the proclamation to audiences at The Nash  on March 29 at the Lewis Nash Pro Jam, with Lewis Nash and Doc Jones in attendance.  The Proclamation will be on display at The Nash throughout the month.
