The Classical Theatre of Harlem, a not-for-profit theatre dedicated to producing theatre that truly reflects the diversity of ideas and racial tapestry that is New York City, will hold a party celebrating their 10th Anniversary Season.
Greasy Joan & Co. launches its 13th year of producing innovative productions of classic plays with the world premiere comedy CHEKHOV'S LIFE IN THE COUNTRY, from short works by Anton Chekhov, with translations by Paul Schmidt, Ryan McKittrick and Julia Smeliansky, and directed by Interim Artistic Director Libby Ford. CHEKHOV'S LIFE IN THE COUNTRY will play Chicago's Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., November 7 through December 21, 2008.
Carey Mulligan, who stars as Nina in the Royal Court Theatre's critically-acclaimed production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, will be interviewed this weekend on NY 1 'On Stage.' 'On Stage' airs Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30 from 9:30 AM-10:00 AM, and again from 7:30 PM-8:00 PM. It also airs Monday, December 1 from 9:30 PM-10:00 PM and Tuesday, December 2 from 12:30 AM-1:00 AM.
Strawdog Theatre Company?s annual holiday benefit, ?Strawdog Yuletacular 2008,? will feature a retro-style variety show with comedic sketches, a holiday cooking demonstration, a raffle and silent auction, and live, big-band style music provided by Strawdog?s guest band, The Jenn Rhoads Project.

Variety reports that Jayne Atkinson has joined the cast of the upcoming Broadway revival of 'Blithe Spirit,' Atkinson will play the bride of Everett's character, who is plagued by the ghost of his deceased first wife (Ebersole). Atkinson was last on Broadway in 'Enchanted April' in 2003.

Ripe Time and New Dramatists will present "Shape Shifting: Antigone In Action," an evening of new work created in response to what makes Antigone necessary today. The event is on Monday, November 10 at 7 pm at New Dramatists. Admission is free.

Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall confirmed that a sequel to last summers big screen version is in the works. It was fairly expected that there would be a follow up, but this is the first time a member of the 'Sex' cast has given confirmation on the subject. Cattrall revealed the news on the UK chat fest, The Paul O'Grady Show.
The producers of Blithe Spirit are pleased to announce the show will play The Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street). Rehearsals are scheduled to begin Monday, January 26, 2009 with the first performance on Thursday, February 26, 2009.
