Kevin Spacey Directs World Premiere of COMPLICIT for Old Vic's 2009 Season

The Old Vic announced a new line up of productions for 2009 that will begin in January with the World Premiere of the new play, COMPLICIT by Joe Sutton and directed in-the-round by Kevin Spacey. Following the hugely successful The Norman Conquests, which runs through to late December 2008, the new program brings further diversity and originality to one of London's oldest theatres.

South Ark Stage (Rhoda Herrick, Producing Artistic Director) has announced that it will present the world premiere of the new chamber musical The Black Monk, with book, lyrics and music by Wendy Kesselman. Under the direction of Kevin Newbury, the four-member cast features Austin Pendleton as the Monk, Scott Robertson as Igor, Elon Rutberg as Andrei, and Sarah Ziegler as Tanya.

Seattle Rep Cancels Broadway Bound 'Waiting for Godot' With Irwin

Seattle Repertory Theatre has cancelled their production of the Broadway bound Waiting for Godot due to the loss of a financial backer. Actor Bill Irwin was set to star in production, scheduled to open on January 15th and run through February 14th. The theater has replaced the production with Athol Fugard's Road to Mecca, directed by Leigh Silverman.

Celebrated playwrights Eugene O'Neill, Eugene Ionesco, and Anton Chekhov will be the focus of Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2nd annual 'Master Playwright Series,' beginning October 27th (7PM) and running through June 2nd at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard.) Sponsored by Nancy and Jay Parker, 'The Master Playwright Series' is scheduled in three segments and will devote several evenings to each playwright.
