Strawdog Announces Seasonal Benefit and

Holiday Edition of “The Game Show Show and Stuff!”

 

“Strawdog Yuletacular 2008”

 

WHAT:             Strawdog Theatre Company’s annual holiday benefit, “Strawdog Yuletacular 2008,” will feature a retro-style variety show with comedic sketches, a holiday cooking demonstration, a raffle and silent auction, and live, big-band style music provided by Strawdog’s guest band, The Jenn Rhoads Project.  Admission price includes complimentary appetizer buffet and drink specials.

 

WHERE:           Morseland, 1218 W. Morse, Chicago, IL 60626

                        Red Line Morse stop (venue located two blocks east on Morse), free limited parking in adjacent lot

 

WHEN:             Monday, December 8, 2008, 7 – 10 p.m.

“The Game Show Show and Stuff Holiday Edition”

 

WHAT:             Strawdog announces the return of the hit Late Night offering, a holiday incarnation of “The Game Show Show and Stuff,” an interactive live game show hosted by ensemble member Anderson Lawfer.  Contestants chosen at random from the live audience compete for prizes through physical challenges and trivia games – more info at www.gameshowshow.com  First debuted in September 2006, this show was named Chicago Magazine’s Best Late Night 2007, the Chicago Reader’s Choice Best Late Night (Best of 2007 issue), and has been featured at the Auditorium Theatre as a part of Chicago’s Looptopia festival.

Red Line Sheridan stop; 36-Broadway and 80-Irving Park buses

$6 honor parking at Greeley School, 832 W. Sheridan, weekends after 5 p.m.

 

WHEN:             Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13, 2008

Doors open at 9 p.m., performance begins 10 p.m.

NEXT:              Strawdog will continue their 21st season with Curt Columbus’ translation of “The Cherry Orchard” by Anton Chekhov, directed by Strawdog Artistic Associate Kimberly Senior, running February 19-March 28, 2009; and Peter Barnes’ black comedy “Red Noses,” directed by House Theatre’s Matthew Hawkins, running April 16-May 23, 2009.
