Sutton Foster and the cast of the Broadway musical VIOLET kicked off 'Best of Broadway' week on NBC's Today.

In honor of the 10th anniversary of Bailiwick Repertory's Jeff Award-winning production of PARADE, Bailiwick Chicago will present a special one night only staged concert of the musical on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 7:30 pm at The Mercury Theater, 3745 N. Southport Ave. in Chicago. Original Director David Zak and Music Director Alan Bukowiecki (both Jeff Award winners) return once again to helm the Tony Award-winning drama by Pulitzer Prize winner Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy, The Last Night of Ballyhoo), with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, The Bridges of Madison County, Songs for a New World) and co-conceived (and directed on Broadway) by Harold Prince. The cast and creative team of the hit Off-Broadway musical Murder for Two are teaming up with some of New York's brightest up and coming composers and BroadwayWorld.com every Monday night for their spring concert series, Murderous Musical Mondays. Composer Joe Iconis contines the series on Monday, May 5, 2014, immediately following the 7pm performance of Murder for Two at New World Stages (Stage 5 - 340 West 50th Street). Performers will include Liz Lark Brown, Katrina Rose Dideriksen, Seth Eliser, Lauren Marcus, Jeremy Morse, Lance Rubin, Jared Weiss, and Jason "SweetTooth" Williams.

Violet opened last week, April 20, on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre. This production stars Sutton Foster, Colin Donnell, Alexander Gemignani, and Joshua Henry. The cast of Violet is in the recording studio today, recording the cast album of Violet on April 7, 2014. This Original Broadway Cast Recording, a two-disc set, will be released by PS Classics on June 3. The production is currently playing at the American Airlines Theatre through August 10, 2014.
