Peninsula Players Theatre, America's Oldest Professional Resident Summer Theatre and Door County's theatrical icon, announces company members for its 81st season, running June 14 through October 16, 2016. ? The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia welcomes Kelli O'Hara, one of Broadway's greatest leading ladies, on June 14th for the finale of their season's concert series with Sirius XM Radio Star Seth Rudetsky.  O'Hara won the Tony Award one year ago today for her star performance in "The King and I".  The concert series produced by Mark Cortale began at the Kimmel Center in October with pianist/host Rudetsky and six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald and continued with two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster in February and Tony-nominated star Megan Hilty in May. What differentiates this concert series from any other is the seamless mix of intimate behind-the-scenes stories from Broadway's biggest stars - prompted by the encyclopedic-minded Rudetsky's probing, funny, revealing questions - and their stellar singing of musical theatre repertoire. Lincoln Center's production of THE KING AND I will close June 26th according to a tweet by NYT theatre reporter Michael Paulson. The production will have played for 39 previews and 499 performances.

?York Little Theatre, now named The Belmont Theatre, will present the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING & I, a musical on the main stage, June 17-19 & 23-26. It is 1862 in Siam when an English widow and her young son arrive at the Royal Palace in Bangkok, to serve as tutor to the king's many children and wives.  With both keeping a firm grip on their respective traditions and values, they both grow to understand and respect one another in a truly unique love story.  The classic musical includes well known favorites including "Whistle A Happy Tune," "Getting To Know You,"  "We Kiss In A Shadow," "Something Wonderful," and the show stopping "Shall We Dance," to name a few.

Lyric Opera of Chicago presents its grand-scale production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, featuring Broadway stars Kate Baldwinand Paolo Montalban as Anna Leonowens and the King of Siam. Additional Broadway artists Ali Ewoldt (Tuptim), Alan Ariano (The Kralahome) and Rona Figueroa (Lady Thiang) join the cast, along with Sam Simahk (Lun Tha) and Chicagoland artists Charlie Babbo (Louis Leonowens), Jomar Ferreras (Interpreter), John Lister(Captain Orton), David Parkes (Sir Edward Ramsay), Peter Sipla (Phra Alack) and Matthew Uzarraga (Prince Chulalongkorn).
