Yesterday, 106.7 Lite FM presented the return of its much-anticipated, annual lunchtime theatre summer series, '106.7 Lite FM's Broadway in Bryant Park.' The 2013 program will present the best of Broadway, FREE to the public, on six consecutive Thursdays beginning July 11 at 12:30 p.m. on the Bryant Park Stage. Hosted by Lite FM's on-air personalities, the 13thannual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through August 15. Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the 15th annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, sponsored by the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and additional sponsorship by the New York Times, BARKS will take place on Saturday, July 13 in Shubert Alley, the heart of the Broadway Theater District (located between 44th and 45thStreets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenues). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m. This year, BARKS will open the show with a performance from the Jersey Boysfollowed by the Broadway debut of many adoptable animals presented by many stars from this season's "hottest" shows. In addition, Peters will be in Shubert Alley with famed illustrator/ author, Hilary Knight, the designer of this year's BARKS poster and Playbill cover. The signing is from 12 noon - 2:00p.m. All proceeds benefit Broadway Barks!

Scott Siegel, the creator, writer, and host of Broadway by the Year has selected a half dozen performers to star in the concert, including Howard McGillin, who holds the record for playing 'The Phantom' longer than any other actor in Broadway history. He will be joined by one of his Christines, Jennifer Hope Wills. Drama Desk Nominees Farah Alvin (The Marvelous Wonderettes) and Kevin Earley (Death Takes a Holiday) return toBroadway by the Year. Lisa Brescia, who starred on Broadway in Twyla Tharp's The Times They Are A-Changin', as Elphaba in Wicked, and as Donna in Mamma Mia! makes her Broadway by the Year debut and favorite Scott Coulter will direct and star in the concert. The cast will be joined by the Broadway by the Year Chorus.
CINDERELLA -- the Rodgers + Hammerstein musical now at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) -- played its 100th performance on Wednesday evening, May 29. The cast celebrated with a cake from Carlo's Bakery, home of TV's 'Cake Boss.' The musical began previews on January 25 and had its official opening night on March 3. Written for CBS-TV in 1957, this production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA marks the musical's first-eve Broadway production, now in its 5th month of performances. The Friday, May 31st broadcast of WNBC-TV/Channel 4's program 'New York Live' seen weekdays at 12:30 p.m. will feature a backstage interview with CINDERELLA stars Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana.
