Palm Beach Dramaworks Launches Seventeenth Season with Tennessee Williams' THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA

The Night of the Iguana, Tennessee Williams' soul-searching, compassionate, surprisingly funny, and achingly poetic 1961 play about a defrocked minister and his one chance for salvation, opens Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2016-2017 season on Friday, October 14 (8pm) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. Performances continue through November 13, with specially priced previews on October 12 and 13.

Palm Beach Dramaworks Introduces DRAMAWISE

Palm Beach Dramaworks is pleased to announce the inaugural season of Dramawise, a series that expands on and replaces the popular Knowledge & Nibbles. In addition to the familiar format - a conversation about an upcoming play with the cast, designers, and director, preceded by lunch at a neighborhood restaurant - audiences will now have the exciting opportunity to delve into the play with Gary Cadwallader, PBD's new director of education and community engagement.

Palm Beach Dramaworks is pleased to announce the cast of its upcoming, fully staged production of the Tony Award-winning musical 1776, which runs from July 1 - 24 at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre, with specially priced previews on June 29 and 30.

Palm Beach Dramaworks to Stage SATCHMO AT THE WALDORF

Palm Beach Dramaworks closes out its sixteenth season with Terry Teachout's funny and moving Satchmo at the Waldorf, in which the legendary Louis 'Satchmo' Armstrong reminisces about and ruminates on his extraordinary life and career just months before his death in 1971. This production marks Teachout's debut as a director. Satchmo at the Waldorf opens at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on May 13 and continues through June 12, with specially priced previews on May 11 and 12.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for Palm Beach Dramaworks' Diane & Mark Perlberg Studio Theatre took place on Tuesday, April 5. Talking part were Producing Artistic Director William Hayes, Managing Director Sue Ellen Beryl, West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio, Diane Perlberg, and Mark Perlberg. The studio theatre is the home of The Dramaworkshop, PBD's lab for developing new plays. Jennifer Fawcett's Buried Cities, the lab's first developmental production, opens on Friday, April 8. Palm Beach Dramaworks to Stage Shanley's OUTSIDE MULLINGAR, Opening 3/25

John Patrick Shanley taps into his Irish roots in Outside Mullingar, a warm, lyrical, brooding romantic comedy in which two lonely people on the cusp of middle age are too obstinate to take a chance on love. The play opens at Palm Beach Dramaworks on March 25 and continues through April 24, with specially priced previews on March 23 and 24.

Five provocative, widely acclaimed plays constitute Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2016-2017 season, which gets underway at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on Friday evening, October 14 with Tennessee Williams' final masterpiece, the autumnal The Night of the Iguana(1961).
