The 41st NAACP Image Awards nominees were announced today during a press conference at The SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. Taye Diggs ('Private Practice' - ABC), Michael Strahan ('Brothers' - FOX) and 'FOX NFL Sunday'), Wanda Sykes ('The Wanda Sykes Show' - FOX), Kyle Massey ('That's SRaven,' 'Cory in the House' - Disney Channel), Chris Massey ('Zoey 101' - Nickelodeon)
and Tatyana Ali (Young and the Restless - CBS) joined NAACP Image Awards Committee Chair, Clayola Brown, and Vicangelo Bulluck, Executive Producer of the telecast, to announce the categories and nominees. The 41st NAACP Image Awards will air live on Friday, February 26 (8:00 - 10:00 PM ET/PT Tape-Delayed) on FOX.
'Princess & The Frog,' 'Precious' & 'An Education' Recognized with Producers Guild Award Noms.

This morning, the Producers Guild announced its nominees for the 21st annual PGA Awards, including the 10 nominees up for the prestigious Producers Guild Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year award. The award, now in its 21st year, honors producers of the standout film of the season. Among the nominees are the producers of An Education starring Carey Mulligan, Lee Daniels and colleagues for Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, and Peter Del Vecho for The Princess and the Frig starring Broadway's Anika Noni Rose and Jennifer Cody.

Variety is reporting that the latest Disney animated release 'The Princess and the Frog' claimed the the top of the box office chart on Friday, making $7 million off 3,434 theaters in its first Friday of wide release. Disney's Princess and the Frog, featuring for the first time four major Broadway voices - Anika Noni Rose, Jen Cody, Micheal Leon Wooley, and Peter Batlett - had its nationwide opening Friday, December 11.

James Earl Jones and Phylicia Rashad are set to reprise their recent Broadway roles of Big Daddy and Big Mama in the West End production of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Debbie Allen will once again direct and acclaimed UK actor Adrian Lester will play the role of Brick. The production will begin December 1st at a theater yet to be announced.

The Golden Satellite Nominations were announced today and the film version of Maury Yeston's 'Nine' received 11 nominations, inclduing Best Motion Picture and Best Director for Rob Marshall. In addition, television favorite 'Glee' received 5 nominations including Best Television Series, Best Actor in a Series for Matthew Morrison and Best Actress in a Series Lea Michele.
