Following a sold-out run at the Almeida Theatre, Olivier Award-winning director Robert Icke's new production of HAMLET transfers to the West End for a strictly limited season this summer. We have priority ticket access on sale from 10am on Wednesday 5 April, ahead of the general sale the following day.

Olivier Award-winning director, Robert Icke's (Mary Stuart, The Red Barn, Uncle Vanya, Oresteia, Mr Burns and 1984), ground-breaking and electrifying production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, starring BAFTA award-winner Andrew Scott (Moriarty in BBC's Sherlock, Denial, Spectre, Design For Living and Cock) in the title role, will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre, following a critically acclaimed and sell out run at the Almeida Theatre.

Hamlet anew in this technology infused but oh so human production of Shakespeare's great tragedy in which Andrew Scott gives us a warm, flawed, and eventually mad Prince.

Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan's brilliant adaptation of George Orwell's formidable novel has returned the West End, following international tours and its very successful London run last summer. Perhaps not typical summer-viewing, this production combines the fantastic and too-true to create something really thought-provoking.

Following the return of 1984 to the Playhouse Theatre last night, the booking period for the West End run has been extended until 29 October 2016. Directed by Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan with Daniel Raggett, this year will see an entirely new cast take to the stage in George Orwell's dystopian masterpiece. Rehearsal images have today been released of an entirely new cast in rehearsals for Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan's adaptation of 1984. The cast for the hit West End production of George Orwell's dystopian masterpiece will be:Rosie Ede, Andrew Gower, Joshua Higgott, Richard Katz, Anthony O'Donnell, Daniel Rabin, Catrin Stewart and Angus Wright alongside Eve Benioff Salama, Cleopatra Dickens, Amber Fernee and India Fowler who will alternate the role of Child.  Check out the photos below!

An entirely new cast has started rehearsals for Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan's adaptation of 1984.

Following a successful sell-out run at the Almeida earlier this year, Robert Icke's reworking of Aeschylus's Oresteia has transferred to the West End, making its home at the Trafalgar Studios. Bringing the story into the 21st century, the production portrays Agamemnon (Angus Wright) as a modern day politician working hard to win the war while trying to maintain life as a family man.

A company of more than 60 artists will bring The Iliad to life in a durational reading on Friday 14 August. The reading will begin at the British Museum and culminate on the Almeida stage. The marathon reading is the latest event in the theatre's Almeida Greeks Festival which has so far seen Robert Icke's critically acclaimed production of Oresteia transfer to Trafalgar Studios in the West End and James Macdonald's production of Bakkhai play to sold out houses at the Almeida.

According to Official London Theatre, the Young Vic has announced the cast for Katie Mitchell's production of Anton Chekhov's THE CHERRY ORCHARD, set to run October 10 - November 29, 2014. Dominic Rowan will star as 'Alexander Lopakhin' opposite Kate Duchene in the play adapted by Olivier winner Simon Stephens (A Doll's House, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time). Also starring are Angus Wright, Gawn Grainger and Paul Hilton.

The all-male Shakespeare's Globe repertory productions of William Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT and RICHARD III have recouped their $3.1 million capitalization costs this week, officially entering the hit column. The productions, which opened on Broadway on November 10, 2013 to ecstatic and universal critical praise, have been playing to capacity crowds at Broadway's Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street), where they have broken the house record several times.

For the past 22 years, one of the personal on-stage inspirations and models, perhaps the singular of these, has been Mark Rylance. I am hardly alone in feeling this way. Mark is world-renowned and a multi-award winner, though I don't imagine he puts much stock in such things.

The all-male Shakespeare's Globe repertory productions of William Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT and RICHARD III, which have broken the box office record at the Belasco Theatre and earned across the board ecstatic critical praise, will be extended by popular demand for an additional two weeks. The productions, which are directed by Tim Carroll and designed by Jenny Tiramani, with music by Claire van Kampen, will play through February 16, 2014 at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).

The critically heralded all-male Shakespeare's Globe productions of Twelfth Night and Richard III, which delighted audiences and broke all box office records in London's West End earlier this year, opened on Sunday, November 10 at the Belasco Theatre, and BroadwayWorld was there for all of the opening night festivities.
