The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and Joe's Pub at The Public join forces once again for the Kimmel Center Theater Residency. Under the tutelage of Jay Wahl, Producing Artistic Director of the Kimmel Center, and Shanta Thake, Director of Joe's Pub, the program serves as an incubator for artists and their collaborators to create and develop music and theater projects. Cuba's rich musical traditions explode onstage as three next-generation Cuban jazz artists converge for the first time on the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts Stage (The Soraya) on Saturday, April 21 for one performance only. Gabriela Martina is excited to be returning to New York City on April 22! This time, the esteemed vocalist and composer will be making her debut at the Triad Theater, located at 158 W 72nd St at 10:00pm. Martina will be joined by a fantastic sextet featuring Ayinde Webb on drums, Kyle Miles on bass, Maxim Lubarsky on piano and keyboards, Jussi Reijonen on guitar and Ben Rosenblum on accordion.
