The Orchard Project is proud to announce the artists, teams, and ensembles participating in its twelfth summer theatre residency program. More than 30 artists and ensembles were selected for residencies this summer from nearly 600 theatre artists and companies who applied. The artists, teams, and companies will come to Saratoga Springs from across the United States and the world to accelerate projects at various stages of development. Throughout the program, the Orchard Project will also present a series of special events and cabarets for the public by OP residents and associated artists.

Agent 355, a new musical with music, lyrics, and book by Preston Max Allen, and book and dramaturgy by Jessica Kahkoska, will have a concert presentation at (le) Poisson Rouge on May 22nd at 8pm. Agent 355 is directed by Sammi Cannold and features music direction and orchestrations by Madeline Smith.

Abigail, Sarah, and Moira - three Amish girls from a nearby community - arrive at the park for their very first day of Rumspringa, the year in an Amish teenager's life when they are given the opportunity to explore the 'English' world. In their one day at Lucky Land, each girl has a life-changing adventure that will alter the way she thinks about her upbringing - and herself - forever. And when Abigail falls for Shane, a troubled but kind-hearted teen from Florida, she must make the ultimate decision: return to the safety of the Amish world or leave her family behind in favor of a life she's never known and a feeling she never expected.

The Orchard Project (Artistic Director, Ari Edelson) announced the eleven writers, composers, directors and companies for its 2018 New York City Greenhouse. In its first year, the Orchard Project NYC Greenhouse is a new NYC-based accelerator for directors, writers, composers and other generative artists to seed ambitious and unexpected work, form new relationships and develop a new generation of theater. For the Orchard Project, it aims to parlay the strength of support that has set the organization apart and transform it into a resource for its growing network of artists.
