BWW Features: WNET Launches '66th & Broadway' Showcasing Cabaret Style Entertainment on Public Television

In its continuing mission to bring culture to people who wouldn't necessarily have access, to illuminate, educate, and entertain, public television stations WNET (New York) and WLIW (Long Island) decided the time was ripe to reacquaint people with the art of cabaret. In February, viewers in the New York metro area were able to view new one-hour cabaret shows featuring singers KT Sullivan and Jennifer Sheehan.

Marie Osmond Coming to Segerstrom Center in March

Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents Marie Osmond in her exciting new show My Life Through Music for one night only on March 29, 2015 in Segerstrom Hall. Tickets start at $69 and will go on sale Thursday, February 12 at 10 a.m. PST. BWW Interviews: DONNY OSMOND Releases 60th Album

When people hear the name DONNY OSMOND, they usually think of things like “Puppy Love” and purple socks. But, that once young performer has matured into something more than a teenybopper. The proof of that is the release of his 60th album of his career. The title of the album is “The Soundtrack of My Life.”

The Pacific Symphony Presents CHRISTMAS WITH SANDI PATTY, 12/18-20

With her angelic voice and heart-warming spirit, Sandi Patty, one of the most highly acclaimed performers of recent times, delivers an uplifting and joyous Christmas concert, complete with the lush, holiday sounds of Pacific Symphony. Praised for her expressive vocal range and flexibility, Patty is often known simply as “The Voice.” She holds five Grammy awards, five gold records, four Billboard Music Awards, three platinum records and has sold 11 million units. This December, Patty teams up with the Symphony and Principal Pops Conductor Richard Kaufman to celebrate the season and share songs from her newest album, “Christmas Blessings.” This record includes Christmas favorites, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Joy to the World,” “Winter Wonderland” and many more. Rejoice in the festivities with the entire family at this wholesome holiday concert, which includes a delightful sing-along. Also, joining Pacific Symphony to narrate “The Night Before Christmas” is well-known actor Jamie Farr, known for his role as Klinger in the television series M*A*S*H.

BWW Interviews: NICE TIME TO BE ALIVE: The New Christy Minstrels Appear At The McCallum Theatre 11/16

The McCallum Theatre presents 'The New Christy Minstrels', with special guest star Barry McGuire for one very special performance, Sunday, November 16, at 3:00pm, Founded by Randy Sparks in 1961, the group's 1962 debut album, 'Presenting the New Christy Minstrels', won a Grammy, remained on the Billboard charts for two years, and scored a hit with 'This Land Is Your Land'. Their 1963 album 'Ramblin' was highlighted by the single 'Green, Green' which climbed the charts and became a hit single. In 2006, the California State Legislature honored The New Christy Minstrels with resolutions from both the Senate and Assembly. Randy Sparks was recognized for his fifty years in the recording industry, and the group was honored for their contributions to the music industry. In 2009, a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars was dedicated to Randy Sparks and The New Christy Minstrels. I had the chance to chat with founder, Randy Sparks, about their upcoming return to The McCallum Theatre and a bit for the history of The New Christy Minstrels.
