Andy Kelso, current star of the 2013 Tony Award-winning Best Musical KINKY BOOTS, two-time Tony Award winner Katie Finneran and The Skivvies have joined the line-up of performers for THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR ROCKIN', a pair of one-night-only, sexy cabaret concerts organized by MARK FISHER FITNESS and featuring company members from KINKY BOOTS.

From the controversial and crass to the inspiring and romantic, the past decade's Tony winners for Best Musical delighted us then and continue to captivate us as they play in productions across the country and around the world. Just last night, the cast and creative team of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots celebrated the show's one year anniversary with a celebratory curtain call and cake. With a Tony Award-winning score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by four-time Tony Award-winnerHarvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots opened on April 4, 2013 and continues to play to standing-room-only crowds nightly. The show, which has broken all box office records at the Hirshfeld Theatre, recouped its costs in October 2013, after just 30 weeks on Broadway. Broadway's best filled a sold-out Al Hirschfeld Theatre with laughter, tears and cheers during the unforgettable ninth annual edition of Broadway Backwards on Monday, March 24, 2014, raising a record-breaking $423,182 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.

A limited number of $40 rush tickets for the much-anticipated ninth annual edition of Broadway Backwards will be released for sale at 6:30 PM Monday, March 24, 2014. The rush tickets will be sold outside the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street). They will not be available at the box office. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, cash only and are limited to two tickets per person. The show begins at 8 PM.

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that Kinky Boots, the Tony Award-winning musical, will celebrate its 100,000th fan 'Like' on Facebook by offering free tickets to lottery entrants for the week of March 18-23, 2014. For this week only, the production will offer 10 pairs of free tickets to each performance, in place of the regular $37 lottery price.

The roster of stars continues to expand for Broadway Backwards with today's additions of Norm Lewis (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, TV's 'Scandal'), Roger Rees (co-director of Peter and the Starcatcher, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby), Julie White (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, The Little Dog Laughed), and Rachel York (Encores! Little Me, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels).

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Kinky Boots will welcome new cast members beginning tonight, March 4, 2014. Jeanna de Waal joins the cast as 'Lauren' (replacing Annaleigh Ashford, who leaves to join the cast of Showtime's 'Masters of Sex'), and Cortney Wolfson, who was previously in the ensemble, moves up to the role of 'Nicola' (replacing Lena Hall, who leaves to join the cast of Hedwig and the Angry Inch). Anna Eilinsfeld takes over Wolfson's role in the cast.

Audience members at the smash hit musical Kinky Boots were in for a special treat last night, when Sky, the Wire Fox Terrier who was named 'Best in Show' at the Westminster Dog Show earlier this week, made a surprise appearance in the Tony Award-winning show. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Andy Kelso stepped into the shoes of Kinky Boots' Charlie Price last night, January 27. Kelso replaces Tony nominee Stark Sands, who departed the cast on Sunday.

Original KINKY BOOTS cast member and two-time Tony nominee Stark Sands gave his final performance in the Cyndi Lauper, Harvey Fierstein, and Jerry Mitchell's Broadway hit, just yesterday, January 26. Sands will be succeeded by Andy Kelso as 'Charlie Price' on Jan. 28. In the video below, Fierstein and Billy Porter bid adieu to their friend in a special speech during the curtain call.
