The producers of the 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights are happy to announce that original cast members Christopher Jackson and Seth Stewart will join Lin-Manuel Miranda and return for the musical's final weeks on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). As previously announced In The Heights will play its final Broadway performance Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 7pm, with Seth Stewart re-joining the cast on Monday, December 6, Christopher Jackson re-joining the cast on Monday, December 20, and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda re-joining the cast on Saturday, December 25, 2010. All three original stars will play through the final performance on Sunday, January 9, 2011.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director), in association with Tracy Aron, announced that two time Tony® Award-winner Donna Murphy will star in the new Broadway musical THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE, directed by Leonard Foglia. On September 5, 2010, IN THE HEIGHTS creator Lin-Manuel Miranda wed his long-time girlfriend, Vanessa, in an intimate celebration amongst family and friends. For the evening's surprise tribute to the bride, Manuel recruited his family, his new in-laws, the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and some old HEIGHTS buddies to perform To Life (L'Chaim) from FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. On August 19, 2010, In The Heights welcomed Kyle Beltran as Broadway's resident bodega owner, 'Usnavi,' following the footsteps of Heights creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and, most recently, Corbin Bleu. No stranger to the show, or the part of 'Usnavi,' Beltran originated the lovable role on the First National Tour of In The Heights, which opened last October in Tampa.

Broadwayworld.com as confirmed that Jordin Sparks is expected to return to Broadway's IN THE HEIGHTS on September 2. As reported previously, Sparks suffered a hip injury during Act 1 of the August 28 performance and has been sitting out since.

The star posted on Twitter last night after being injured in the show that 'Got my 1st broadway injury tonight. Hurt my hip in the first act. But I finished the show! Thank you so much to everyone who came tonight. Sorry I couldn't sign. :( It's hard to stand/walk.
