HERE announces the line-up for its annual CULTUREMART festival, this year running January 24 - February 11.

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will present red, black & GREEN: a blues by Marc Bamuthi Joseph on Friday, Jan. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Virginia G. Piper Theater.

Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today new Main Stage and Nikos Stage productions for the 2012 Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) season, the Festival's 58th Season and second under Ms. Gersten's leadership.

PUNK YANKEES is a provocative and entertaining dance theater work that combines live performance, video, and the internet to unpack ideas about authenticity, originality, and the ownership of dance in the digital age. The Chicago-based dance theater company, Lucky Plush Productions, is led by Artistic Director Julia Rhoads, who teams up with music sampling artist Stefen Robinson (Yea Big) and media artists John Boesche and Julie Ballard.

Joyce SoHo is set to present its Spring/Summer '12 season featuring a riveting line-up of the dance world's most innovative choreographers and companies.

Performance Space 122 is set to present the New York premiere of Newyorkland, from performance group Temporary Distortion.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that the New York premiere of An Iliad, by Denis O'Hare and Lisa Peterson, based on Homer's Iliad translated by Robert Fagles, directed by Ms. Peterson, will begin performances on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Mr. O'Hare and Stephen Spinella will alternate performances of the play. Opening nights are Tuesday, March 6, 2012 (Mr. O'Hare) and Wednesday, March 7, 2012 (Mr. Spinella).

The OBIE-winning HERE announced the line-up for its annual CULTUREMART festival, this year running January 24 - February 11. CULTUREMART makes process the focus, presenting work in various stages of development from the boundary-breaking artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP). CULTUREMART provides a platform for HARP artists to blur the lines between dance, theatre, music, multimedia, puppetry and visual art, on their journey to mainstage productions. CULTUREMART 2012 features 12 workshop performances spanning topics as varied as civic engagement, human error, music of the spheres, war gaming and everything in between.

This pilot program is an initiative by BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange, funded in part by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, that has been developed to address some of the needs of choreographers who are trying to meet the challenges of being an artist and a parent to newborn through pre-school age (0-4) children. As an organization that has entered its third decade, BAX is intimately familiar with the joys and the difficulties of raising a family and creating and producing work.

Heralded by The New York Times for its 'good-time funkiness,' David Dorfman Dancereturns to The Joyce Theater from January 24-29, 2012 with the NYC Premiere of Prophets of Funk, a work that reinvigorates 'boomer memories to the sounds of Sly & the Family Stone.' (Boston Phoenix). The Joyce Theater is located at 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19thStreet), NYC. Tickets range in price from $10-$39. Ticket prices are subject to change. Performance Space 122's contemporary performance festival, COIL, returns in an expanded edition for its seventh year.

HERE proudly presents Chimera, a HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP) production, as part of the 2012 Under The Radar Festival. Created by Suli Holum (co-creator, performer) and Deborah Stein (co-creator, writer), Chimera is a multimedia theatrical work integrating sophisticated video into a dramatic story. This production plays January 5 - 28 in the Dorothy B. Williams Theatre at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue) as a featured presentation within HERE's 2011-12 Season. Official Opening Night is set for Sunday, January 8 at 7:00pm.

Signature Theatre announced today that The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded Signature Theatre $2 million in support of the Company's Legacy Program and for the creation of a reserve fund as part of Signature's capital campaign for Signature Center, the Company's new, permanent home, which will open in late January 2012.

OPERA America, the national service organization for opera, has announced that it has awarded nearly $200,000 in Audience Development grants, as part of The Opera Fund, to 16 U.S. opera companies.

Performance Space 122 will present the highly anticipated U.S. debut of renegade Lebanese artist Rabih Mroué.

Performances of A Map of Virtue will take place February 6-25 at the 4th Street Theatre. The 4th Street Theatre is located at 83 East 4th Street in New York City.

Playwrights Horizons just announced complete casting for the New York premiere of ASSISTANCE, a new play by Leslye Headland (Bachelorette). Directed by Trip Cullman (A Small Fire, The Drunken City and Manic Flight Reaction at Playwrights Horizons, Bachelorette), the production will begin previews Friday, February 3 at 8PM with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, February 28 at 7PM. The limited engagement will play through Sunday, March 11 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).
