La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment announce the first show of their 2015-2016 season, FIRST DATE, music & lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, book by Austin Winsberg, musical direction by Brent Crayon, choreography by Lee Martino and directed by Nick DeGruccio.
Award-winning Broadway composer Andrew Lippa, who was the 2010-2011 Composer in Residence at Texas State, will return to Texas State to perform a concert of music from his shows along side students from the musical theater program and Broadway veteran Kaitlin Hopkins (Bat Boy, Bare) at the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Texas State University on October 17th at 7:30pm. There will also be a silent auction in the lobby of signed Film, TV and Theatre Memorabilia including scripts, photos and posters. All proceeds from the concert will go to scholarships for students in the Department of Theatre and Dance. Tickets are available at www.txstatepresents.com.

Two Turns Theatre Company will present an intimate and freshly interpreted production of Doug Wright's Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning play, I Am My Own Wife, about the infamous German transvestite Charlotte von Mahlsdorf. Directed by Amy Corcoran and starring Drama Desk nominee Vince Gatton, the play will be performed in and among the furniture, art, clothing and taxidermy of RePOP (143 Roebling St., Brooklyn, NY 11211), Williamsburg's noted vintage shop. Performances begin September 23 and will run through October 4. I Am My Own Wife will perform Wednesdays through Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
On October 9, 2015 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, will open its 33rd season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The concert honors the duo's timeless work, which has captured the hearts of every generation of music lovers, and will feature guest artists Sierra Boggess and Steven Pasquale. The program will feature numbers from all eleven of the collaborations between Rodgers and Hammerstein. Selections will include 'A Wonderful Guy' and 'Some Enchanted Evening' from South Pacific, 'The Sound of Music' from The Sound of Music, and 'Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' from Oklahoma!.
