The 2018 theatre calendar kicks off with productions at Town and Trustus!

Tulsa World reports that Andy Blankenbuehler will make his debut as a ballet choreographer in a yet to be titled production as part of Tulsa Ballet's 2018-19 season.

Coronado Playhouse opens its 2018 Season, A Family Affair, with The Addams Family, opening Friday, January 19th and running until Sunday, February 25th, 2018 at Coronado Playhouse. The Addams Family, a musical comedy, is written by the creators of the multi award-winning Jersey Boys, with music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominated composer Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party) and based on characters created by Charles Addams.

The Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) and the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University are seeking the nation's most talented young songwriters and writing teams for the 13th annual Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project. The free, weeklong songwriting workshop will take place June 24 to 30, 2018, on Northwestern's Evanston campus.

Last night, I saw the completely charming production of 'La Famille Addams' at Th tre Le Palace. This musical written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with words and music by Andrew Lippa is based on popular American cartoon strip 'The Addams Family' which later became a television series with a huge cult following. I fondly recall watching this series when I was a boy. Mr. Charles Addams' characters have also appeared in two Hollywood feature films. I would say it would be hard to find someone who hasn't heard of this kooky family.

The Dramatists Guild Foundation celebrated the work of Itamar Moses at a salon hosted by DGF President Emeritus, Gretchen Cryer on Monday, September 25. He was interviewed by DGF President Andrew Lippa, and spoke about his writing process as well as the creation of his hit Broadway musical, The Band's Visit, co-written with David Yazbeck.
