Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for the world premiere of Aaron Posner's JQA, recipient of an Edgerton Foundation New Play Award. The first of Posner's plays that is not adapted from an existing work, JQA shines a spotlight with humor and care on an ineffectual presidency, the idea of government and how a society lives in relationship to it, and the American experiment as it continues to evolve. Directed by Posner as well, JQA runs March 1 through April 14, 2019 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle.

Nadia Quinn, star of Broadway's Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, The Robber Bridegroom and a great many of television's Commercials, debuts an elegant, yet casual, cabaret at Feinstein's/54 Below. Fans of Nadia's twee comedy band, Summer & Eve, will love this new solo show - it's like seeing a post-Fleetwood Mac Stevie Nicks, but funny.

Atlanta Lyric Theatre presents this totally 80s romantic musical comedy February 8-Feb- ruary 24, 2019. Based on the hit Adam Sandler movie, THE WEDDING SINGER takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. Just say yes to the most romantic musical in twenty years! THE WEDDING SINGER performs at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre (548 South Marietta Pkwy., Marietta).

Daryl Roth (Kinky Boots, Indecent, Gloria: A Life) presents the world premiere of Accidentally Brave, written by and starring Maddie Corman (Appropriate, Next Fall). The limited engagement is directed by Tony Award Nominee Kristin Hanggi (Rock of Ages, bare). Previews begin on Monday, March 11, with an opening night on Monday, March 25, and a final performance set for Sunday, July 14 at the DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th St, NYC).

Nationally acclaimed historical interpreter Mark Schneider, who has portrayed "Napoleon" at Colonial Williamsburg as well as internationally and onscreen, performs for three events at the Winter Chautauqua Festival February 1-3, 2019, in Greenville.  

Tom a.k.a. Matoma may not be the biggest superstar DJ in the scene, but this big character from a small Norwegian town is one of the most unique. When he studied music technology it was to become a music teacher, not for aspirations of stardom. His life however was turned upside down when he uploaded remixes online for fun and it generated millions of plays. While this would be a fairytale story for some, Tom didn't care about becoming a superstar - which is his unique gift, and sometimes his curse.

The Handel and Haydn Society has announced the addition of three new principal musicians to its Orchestra. Emi Ferguson joins the orchestra in the principal flute position, Heather Miller Lardin joins in the principal bass role, and Jonathan Hess joins as the principal timpanist. All three musicians were selected by a committee either by appointment or following a series of auditions with an international field of candidates

Barrow Street Theatricals' announced this weekend and next week's rotating cast of guest actors for the American premiere of the Nassim Soleimanpour and Bush Theatre production of NASSIM by celebrated Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour (White Rabbit Red Rabbit), featuring direction by Omar Elerian.

When I heard about the topic of the new Baltimore Center Stage production of A WONDER IN MY SOUL, I initially thought it would be a female version of the film 'Barber Shop' Well, let me tell you, it is NOT!!!!

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, will present A Charlie Brown Christmas as part of our 2018 Holiday Series! Created by Charles M. Schulz, based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson, this stage adaptation by Eric Schaeffer is presented by special arrangement with Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson, and will be directed by Resident Artist James McHale. A Charlie Brown Christmas will preview from December 7th through 9th; regular performances will begin December 13th and continue through December 23rd on the Fyda-Mar Stage at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

Founder and Executive Artistic Director Benjamin Taylor Davis announces today that submissions for the Fourth Annual Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival (AMTF), to be held in the summer in Atlanta, are officially open. The deadline to submit new works is February 1, 2019. Selections will be announced in April 2019, at the annual selections announcement event (details forthcoming).

Inspired by the power struggle between the richest of the Oligarchs and an ambitious Vladimir Putin after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Lin (House of Cards) explores U.S. - Russia relations then and now. Directed by Jackson Gay, and by special arrangement with Robert Ahrens, Mickey Liddell and Michael Mills, Kleptocracy runs January 18 - February 24, 2019 in the Kreeger Theater.

Award-winning voice actor Lori Alan (Pearl Crabs on 'SpongeBob SquarePants,' Diane Simmons on 'Family Guy,' Pixar's upcoming Toy Story 4) joins the cast of Villain: DeBlanks' debut performance at the new Birdland Theater. She replaces previously announced Tony-nominee Brenda Braxton, who has withdrawn due to a schedule conflict. The one-night-only performance on Wednesday, December 12 promises an evening of laughs and surprises, and all proceeds will benefit God's Love We Deliver.
