Today the spotlight shines on University School of Nashville's Aidan Watt, who during his four years at USN has been cast in every production - "aside from Noises Off, which I did tech for," he explains. As part of the amazing theater program at USN, Aidan's been learning from the best: Catherine Coke, whose resume includes work on all levels of professional theater, heads the program, with the estimable Jim Manning, perhaps Nashville's hardest working scenic designer (not to detract from any of the other designers in town, of course, who do great work, but Jim Manning - a 2012 First Night Star Award winner - tends to work on multiple productions for multiple companies at the same time. Whew!), heading technical and design teams.
Phoenix Theatre's BUYER AND CELLAR Opens Tonight

Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces Buyer and Cellar opening tonight, March 5 on the Frank and Katrina Basile Stage. This production runs through April 5, 2015, with Chuck Goad serving as director. The production will be an Indiana premiere.

Lane and Bonnie Comley Musical Theatre Fund, this Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Rialto Room at Remi Restaurant (144 West 54th Street.) Among the notable Boston University alumni expected to participate in the celebration are Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba ('Crazy Eyes' in the Netflix series 'Orange is the New Black'), Sara Chase (starring in the new Netflix series 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'), actor Greg Hildreth (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Tony nominated actor David Garrison (The Visit, Wicked, Married with Children) and Tony nominated Reed Birney ('House of Cards'; Casa Valentina)
Broadway Green Alliance Forms New Contest for College Students

The Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) has launched a new contest to honor and reward College Green Captains for creating greener productions on college campuses. Winners will have brought innovative, creative, or widely-applied greening and energy-efficient methods into the design or production of theatre at their campus.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber present the next production in the second season of Chicago's hit 'lost' musicals in staged concert series, Porchlight Revisits... City of Angels, featuring book by Larry Gelbart (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, M*A*S*H), music by Cy Coleman (Sweet Charity, Barnum) and lyrics by David Zippel (The Goodbye Girl, Disney's Mulan) with direction by Christopher Pazdernik and music direction by Aaron Benham. City of Angels is presented for two-nights-only tonight, March 3 and Wednesday, March 4 at 8:00 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's Sondheim on Sondheim (February 6 - March 15) on nights when there are no performances at Stage 773, 1225 W. MCC Extends THE NETHER, Starring Emmy Winner Merritt Wever

MCC THEATER has announced that the New York premiere of Jennifer Haley's The Nether directed by Anne Kaufman has now extended through Sunday, March 22, 2015 due to popular and critical acclaim. The production opened on Tuesday, February 24th and was previously scheduled through March 15, 2015 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street). A production of The Nether also just opened to great critical acclaim in London's West End at the famed Royal Court Theatre. Virginia's Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production of Kid Victory, a new musical from legendary composer John Kander (Chicago, Cabaret) and acclaimed playwright Greg Pierce (Slowgirl). The production began performances at Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre on February 17. It will play for five weeks, through March 22.
