The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) announced today a star-studded lineup of performers for the annual benefit concert, "Broadway Stands Up for Freedom," which will take place on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.  This iconic concert was created 15 years ago by aspiring musical theater actors to highlight social injustices and civil rights issues through song and spoken word.

Berkshire Theatre Group announces the final production of its upcoming 2017 Summer Season will be Mark Medoff's Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Award-winning play, Children of a Lesser God, which began performances on Thursday, June 22 at The Fitzpatrick Main Stage. According to an Equity casting notice, Baz Luhrmann's revolutionary film Moulin Rouge! might come to the stage as a new musical with a book by John Logan, directed by Alex Timbers. A developmental lab will begin at the end of October.

American Repertory Theater of WNY will roll out the company's eleventh season with an artistic direction emphasizing three productions by Western New York playwrights, presenting a contemporary comedic adaptation on a dramatic classic bore, and bringing a legendary rock-opera to ART/WNY's stage.

Red Bull Theater today announced a very special Revelation Reading: for two nights only, on Sunday, June 18th and Monday June 19th at The Duke on 42nd Street (229 West 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues) Red Bull will present a concert reading of  THE COUNTRY WIFE, a new musical adapted from the play of the same name by William Wycherley by Richard Maltby Jr. with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and music by David Shire, and direction by Mr. Maltby.  

National Geographic today announced that Emmy Award-winning television personality Phil Keoghan will join Golden Globe- and Emmy award-winning actress Jane Lynch as host of the network's greatest-ever natural event, EARTH LIVE.

AstonRep Theatre Company is pleased to announce its 2017-18 Season, kicking off this fall with 1984, a chilling view of a world controlled by a totalitarian government, based on George Orwell's classic novel, adapted for the stage by Robert Owens, Wilton E. Hall Jr. and William A. Miles and directed by Artistic Director Robert Tobin. This winter, the season continues with a FESTIVAL OF ONE ACTS BY TENNESSEE WILLIAMS, celebrating one of the 20th century's greatest writers. Berkshire Theatre Group presents Tony Award-winning jukebox musical and epic night of rock 'n roll, Million Dollar Quartet, directed and music direction by James Barry (Broadway: Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson; BTG: A Thousand Clowns, Tommy, The Caretaker). Million Dollar Quartet runs from June 14 through July 15 at The Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge, MA. Opening night is set for Saturday, June 17 at 8pm.
