Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Announces Casting for ROMEO & JULIET

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced today the complete cast of its 22nd production of Free Shakespeare on the Common, William Shakespeare's immortal drama Romeo & Juliet, directed by Allegra Libonati. Performances are free of charge, and will take place on the Boston Common, near the Parkman Bandstand.

High School Drama: Tullahoma High School's WILLIAM KUEBITZ

Among those students feted for their outstanding performances was Tullahoma High School's William Kuebitz, a top three finalist for his performance as Bert in Mary Poppins. Performing 'Step in Time' from the show, William gained a thunderous ovation from his fellow actors and other supporters in the audience that night, which was the culmination of his high school career.

Tony Award-Winning Musical PARADE Comes to Chance Theater This Summer

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is pleased to announce its production of PARADE, with book by Alfred Uhry, music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, direction by Kari Hayter, and musical direction by Robyn Manion. PARADE will preview from June 30 through July 7; regular performances will begin July 8 and continue through July 30 at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Cripe Stage.

High School Drama: Lipscomb Academy's Spotlight Award-Winning HATTY KING

It's been a big week for Lipscomb Academy's Hatty King - last Saturday night, she had the honor of performing on the stage of Andrew Jackson Hall at Tennessee Performing Arts Center and then was presented the Spotlight Award as best actress at the Nashville High School Musical Theatre Awards - and her summer is shaping up to be even more than that…as she heads to New York City to spend a week working the best and brightest of Broadway stars and young aspiring musical theater actors from all over the country as they vie for top honors at The Jimmy Awards.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC National Tour Makes DC Premiere Next Month

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents the touring production of The Sound of Music, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien. This lavish new production will make its Washington, D.C. premiere at the Kennedy Center Opera House June 13-July 16, 2017 as part of a North American tour. Tickets are currently on sale.

Hatty King, Nathan Keffer Head to Jimmy Awards After Spotlight Award Wins

Hatty King of Lipscomb Academy in Nashville and Nathan Keffer of Ravenwood High School in Brentwood took home top honors at the 2017 Spotlight Awards - held Saturday night at Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall - winning "Best Actress" and "Best Actor" awards respectively. The two travel to New York next month to compete nationally in the Jimmy Awards on June 26.
