Uptown Players, a professional theater group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced its programming for the 3rd annual Dallas Pride Performing Arts Festival. From September 5 - 14, 2013, Uptown Players will present a nine-day festival of plays, staged readings and cabaret acts celebrating Dallas Gay Pride.

Bernstein Theater (210 West 50th Street at the corner of Broadway, New York City).
The producers of FACING EAST, a new musical based on the moving play by Carol Lynn Pearson, are thrilled to announce that the show will play the Uptown Theatre in Grand Prairie, TX for a one night only concert on August 27, 2013. Executive Producer Nathan Gardner says "In the Dallas-Fort Worth region I see a wonderful arts community to work within, and in tandem with, to continue to grow our show. I see a city busting at the seams with things to offer. And I also see, on the other end of the spectrum, an audience that could benefit from seeing the story our show portrays."

The New Colony board of directors today announces that Associate Artistic Director, Evan Linder, has been promoted to the role of Co-Artistic Director. Linder, a playwright, actor and founding member of The New Colony will now work directly alongside current Artistic Director, Andrew Hobgood in a shared role as the organization's chief artistic officer. "It just makes sense," says Hobgood. "The New Colony's mission is to attract new audiences by creating works that speak to them. But as we grow, that has required more work than one Artistic Director can take on.
5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, the explosive Off-Broadway play, has announced today that it will play a weekend of performances once a month at The SoHo Playhouse Mainstage (15 Vandam Street, NYC). Previously scheduled to play weekly performances through Sunday, January 6th, effective immediately the production is now playing four performances during the second weekend of each month beginning January 11, 2013. This monthly cycle will continue on the weekends of February 8th and March 8th. A closing date has not been announced.

Off-Broadway's 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche wants all of the lady sisters of the country to come together and celebrate the right to have their voices heard! The play's Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein are asking women to "Quiche the Vote" by taking a photo of herself (not her ballot) after she votes, and uploading it to Instagram with the hash tag #5quiches and #QuicheTheVote.
