Gingold Theatre Company's Project Shaw will present a reading of ON THE ROCKS, on July 22 at THe Players Club. A heart-warming cocktail about money, greed, politics and sex. This viciously witty comedy tackles, head-first, the unthinkable concept of a country in the midst of an economic depression. Unemployment, health care, human rights you name it. It's a riotous cast of character, assembled as only possible in the always-surprising imagination of G.B.S.

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw featured George Bernard Shaw's final full-length play, BUOYANT BILLIONS, last night, October 22. Now in its seventh sold-out year, Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw made history in December 2009 as the first company ever to present every play (including full-length works, one-acts and sketches) written by George Bernard Shaw. Lauren Fox, whose highly praised Joni Mitchell-Leonard Cohen show was considered one of the most artistically ambitious cabaret debuts in years, continues to explore the music of the '60s and '70s in a new show, 'Canyon Folkies,' playing at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street. In a major engagement consisting of four shows through November 2, Fox reunites with music director Jon Weber on piano, Peter Calo on guitar and Ritt Henn on bass. 'Canyon Folkies: Over the Hills and Under the Covers' performs Friday October 12 at 7pm; Friday October 26 at 9:30pm, and Friday November 2 at 7pm. Check out photos from the concert below!

On Tuesday, October 9, Primary Stages (Executive Producer Casey Childs, Artistic Director Andrew Leynse, Managing Director Elliot Fox) continued their celebration of the Foote Family legacy at the opening night of HIM by Daisy Foote. This world-premiere production, the second of Primary Stages' 28th season, features Tony Award nominee Hallie Foote (Harrison, TX , Dividing the Estate) Tim Hopper (Present Laughter, The Dying Gaul, Steppenwolf), Adam LeFevre (The Doctor's Dilemma), and Adina Verson (The Winter's Tale at Yale Rep). Helmed by Obie Award-winning director Evan Yionoulis (Three Days of Rain, Violet Hour), HIM runs September 25 - October 28 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.

Has there ever been a father/daughter theatrical combo that sets off sparks like when HAllie Foote acts in the plays of her father, the great Horton Foote?  For Primary Stages, she's been heartbreaking as the emotionally repressed title character in The Day Emily Married and downright hilariously self-centered in Dividing The Estate.  Now, in the company's package of three Foote one-acts titled Harrison, TX, she and Andrea Lynn Green open the evening with crackling comic chemistry that's firmly grounded in reality.

Dallas Theater Center announced today the cast and design team of Giant, a co-production with The Public Theater, which runs at the Wyly Theatre Jan. 18 - Feb. 19, 2012.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) will present private readings of ROCKET SCIENCE: The Musical, a new musical based on the 2007 HBO film Rocket Science.
