Casting has been announced for the upcoming North American tour of Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT, the two-time Tony Award-winning Broadway hit called 'wonderfully raucous' and 'emotionally charged' by The New York Times, which will premiere in Toronto December 28 - January 15 before continuing on to 14 other markets across the United States.

The national tour of AMERICAN IDIOT kicks off in Toronto, ON at the Toronto Centre for the Arts presented by Dancap Productions Inc, and venues for the tour include: The Opera House in Detroit, MI; Opera House in Boston, MA; Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh, NC; Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, MN; Eisenhower Auditorium in State College, PA; Peabody Opera House in St. Louis, MO; Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, CA; Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, AZ; AT&T PAC in Dallas, TX; Segerstrom Center in Costa Mesa, CA; Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA. According to the Toronto Star, the tour will feature Jake Epstein as Will and Talia Aaron and Gabriel Antonacci in the ensemble.

The producers of the critically acclaimed AMERICAN IDIOT previously announced that Green Day frontman and the musical's composer and co-author Billie Joe Armstrong would return to the role of "St. Jimmy" on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 for the final three weeks of the Broadway production at the St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street. Following 421 performances on Broadway and 27 previews, the final show is Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 7:30pm. The first national tour launches in the fall of 2011.
