Performances will run September 27th at 8 pm, September 29th at 1 pm, October 1st at 8 pm, October 2nd and 3rd at 4:30 pm, October 5th at 8 pm, October 6th at 1 pm and Friday, October 8th at 1pm at Urban Stages. Two-Time Tony Award nominee Andre De Shields, who recently dazzled as Applegate in the John W. Engeman Theater production of Damn Yankees, came out to support his ARCHBISHOP SUPREME TARTUFFE director Alfred Preisser and choreographer Tracy Jack at the West End Theater in New York last night, where the Dog Run Rep world premiere of Jeff Cohen's The Man Who Ate Michael Rockefeller, directed by Mr. Preisser and choreographed by and featuring Ms. Jack, is currently playing a limited engagement through October 3. After the show, castmembers were delighted to meet the Broadway vet.

On Monday, September 13, The Actors Fund hosted a party for 'The Friends of The Lillian Booth Actors Home' at Gloria Crest, in Englewood, NJ, the former estate of film legend Gloria Swanson and now the home of the evening's hosts Jan and Edward Turen. The Turens welcomed Tony Award-winning actor Brian Stokes Mitchell, and the evening's entertainment host Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth. Emmy and Tony Award winner Leslie Uggams, Tony Award-nominated actor/singer Tom Wopat and singer-songwriter-pianist Peter Cincotti and his band, among others performed. The production of DAMN YANKEES playing at the John W. Engeman Theater in Northport (LI), New York is a solid one. There are fine performances, inventive staging, colorful costumes and a jaunty score. However something very magical takes place half way through the second act: it is at this point that Broadway veteran André De Shields, who plays Mr. Applegate, sits in a chair, crosses his legs and launches into the song 'Those Were The Good Old Days'. It is the moment when the show is elevated into something extremely grand and memorable.
