After sweeping the 2008 Tony Awards and enchanting audiences throughout the country, the Lincoln Center Theater Production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC - featuring the largest orchestra of any Broadway production currently on tour - will close at Prudential Hall in the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) January 30, 2012.

After sweeping the 2008 Tony Awards and enchanting audiences throughout the country, the Lincoln Center Theater Production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC - featuring the largest orchestra of any Broadway production currently on tour - will land at Prudential Hall in the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) for an eight performance run starting Wednesday, January 26, 2011.

The votes are in, the ballots tallied and the people have spoken. Yes, the 2010 BroadwayWorld Seattle Theater awards results are in and my oh my was it a nail biter. There was some fierce competition out there but the voters have spoken. But since the results were so close, we're going to put in not only the winners but also the 1st and 2nd runners up as well. If you've only ever seen the movie version, or a community theatre production, you owe it to yourself to check out the touring company of the 2008 Broadway revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC that's currently playing the Fox Theatre. This is a lavish and impressive production filled with gorgeous melodies, many of which have become standards that you'll find yourself humming on the way home. The social issues that this Pulitzer prize winning drama tackles were groundbreaking for their time, and they still manage to make an impact today, despite how far we've come. But, most importantly, this production affords you the opportunity to see a top notch, and well-seasoned cast tackling this wonderful material.
