The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has announced its continuation of the Artist in Residence initiative at OBERON, the A.R.T.'s second stage and club-theater venue. Rooted in A.R.T's mission to expand the boundaries of theater by supporting local and emerging artists, OBERON launched this multi-year program in 2013 with three local performance groups: Boston Circus Guild, Liars & Believers, and Touch Performance Art. All three companies had worked previously at OBERON, creating events in the club theater model and harnessing a form of theater rooted in a social environment. Following a successful inaugural season of sold-out and much lauded original programming, this initiative moves into its second of three seasons with these unique local organizations.

ONCE, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, will play at Segerstrom Center for the Arts for a limited engagement from tonight, August 19 through the 31st.

Just as central character J. M. Barrie needs to find his true voice in order to break through the writer's block that is hampering his playwriting career, FINDING NEVERLAND, the new musical about the family that inspired the beleaguered author to create Peter Pan, needs to find its voice, too. Teetering abruptly between empty frivolousness and genuine pathos, FINDING NEVERLAND is an uneven adventure in its current pre-Broadway tryout at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Mass.

The 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season begins with Betty Buckley, Hallie Foote, Annalee Jefferies and Veanne Cox in award-winning Texas playwright Horton Foote's The Old Friends, a Southwestern premiere.

As BroadwayWorld previosly reported, FINDING NEVERLAND, with music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Elliot Kennedy, book by James Graham, and direction by Diane Paulus, will officially fly to Broadway. According to The New York Times, 'NEVERLAND' spokesperson Rick Miramontez, has confirmed that the new musical will settle in at a Nederlander Organization theater in March 2015.

When Griffin Matthews, a young black American from New York City, ventured to Uganda in 2005 to help build a village school, he had no idea what a life-changing journey it would be. His six-week experience, in the company of a group of orphaned teenagers compelled the young writer/director/actor to want to do something to improve their quality of life. First he formed a non-profit aid organization, the Uganda Project, and later, after returning to the village year after year, Matthews, in a collaboration with Matt Gould, wrote the award-winning musical Witness Uganda which has brought new funding to the project. Having its world premiere at the American Repertory Theater earlier this year, the two men will perform a concert version of the musical at a Sunday, August 31st special Weston Playhouse event.

Sonoma, CA (August 12, 2014) The Transcendence Theatre Company will present the Broadway bound musical "Witness Uganda" in concert as the third offering in the Transcendence Artist Series. The concert will take place on August 19th at the Atwood Ranch in Sonoma Valley and will feature a special post-show discussion with the artists.

Beginning Tuesday, August 26th, John Dossett will join the all-new Tony Award winning production of Pippin in the role of 'Charles.' PIPPIN is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Tony Award winner John Rubinstein departs the production on Sunday, August 24 to join the national tour, which launches September 6 in Denver, CO.

Gotham Chamber Opera announces the 2014/2015 season, which begins with Alexandre bis/Comedy on the Bridge, both by Bohuslav Martinu, from October 14 - 18, 2014, followed by the revival of Gotham's 2010 production El gato con botas (Puss in Boots) in December at El Museo del Barrio.

Shakespeare's tale of shipwrecks, sorcery and young love, adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller, arrives at South Coast Repertory to open the 2014-15 season, Aug. 29-Sept. 28, on the Segerstrom Stage.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Ernest Abuba, Joel de la Fuente, Tsering Dorjee, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Takemi Kitamura, James Saito, Jon Norman Schneider, and Nami Yamamoto will comprise the cast of its upcoming production of Sarah Ruhl's new play THE OLDEST BOY. The play, to be directed by Rebecca Taichman, will begin previews Thursday, October 9 and open on Monday, November 3 in the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).
