Working Barn Productions and Bontela Productions will present a six-actor, multimedia look at William Shakespeare's classic tragedy, MACBETH, directed by Peter Richards. MACBETHwill preview on Thursday, October 9 & Friday, October 10 at 8pm and will open on Saturday, October 11 at 8pm and will run through Sunday, November 2 at Edgemar Center for the Arts, 2437 Main Street in Santa Monica.

Mari Marchbanks announced today the 2014 recipients of the Horton Foote Prize, named in honor of the legendary writer, to award excellence in American Theater. Presented biennially, the 2014 Prize for the 2012-13/2013-14 seasons' Outstanding New American Play is awarded to The Body of an American by Dan O'Brien. The Colony Theatre will present the second production of its historic 40th Anniversary season, the West Coast Premiere of WHAT I LEARNED IN PARIS by Pearl Cleage. The production stars Tony winner L. Scott Caldwell, and is directed by Saundra McClain. WHAT I LEARNED IN PARIS will preview tonight, September 3; Thursday, September 4; and Friday, September 5 at 8:00pm. It will open on Saturday, September 6 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, October 5 at The Colony Theatre, 555 North Third Street in Burbank.

Matthew James Thomas, who originated the role of Pippin in the current 2013 Tony Award winning revival, will perform the title role when the show launches its tour in Denver, and he will also play the role in the entire run in San Francisco at the SHN Golden Gate Theatre (September 23 through October 19, 2014) and in Los Angeles at Hollywood Pantages (October 21 through November 9, 2014). Kyle Selig will be taking a medical leave of absence for vocal rest from the Pippin tour. It remains unknown whether Thomas will continue throughout the rest of the tour.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Diane Paulus, Artistic Director and William Russo, Managing Director announced today that its world premiere production of the musical Finding Neverland, with book by James Graham, music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy, directed by Diane Paulus with choreography by Mia Michaels, has reached the highest attendance record for a single production at the A.R.T. The production began previews at the Loeb Drama Center on Wednesday, July 23 and is running through Sunday, September 28, for a total of 75 performances.
