Berkeley Rep has announced the full company for its 2015-16 season opener Amelie, A New Musical, starring award-winning actress Samantha Barks.

Colt Coeur Artistic Director Adrienne Campbell-Holt and Managing Director Amy Ashton announce the company's 6th season. The 2015-2016 season will include World Premieres by MJ Kaufman and William Francis Hoffman. While Colt Coeur spends the year developing plays and creating innovative initiatives, this is the first time they will be presenting a two-play season.

BroadwayWorld has just learned Waitress, a new musical, will open on Broadway as part of the current 2015-2016 season.  The production will open in April 2016, with previews beginning in March 2016 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).  Waitress is currently playing at the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, where it runs through September 27, 2015.

WAITRESS: THE MUSICAL is set for a total Twitter takeover!

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced that Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bonnie and Clyde), Corey Cott (Newsies,Gigi) and Tony Award winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone, 42nd Street) will star in the theater's world-premiere musical The Bandstand .  

As the Lyric Stage has shown with Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Big River, and more, our forte is turning a grand musical into a completely thrilling event in our uniquely intimate space. Now, director Scott Edmiston will re-fashion My Fair Lady, the delightful story of a down-on-her- luck London flower girl taken on as an 'experiment' by a chauvinistic speech therapist, into another Lyric Stage winner. Based on George Bernard Shaw's beloved play Pygmalion, My Fair Lady introduced the world to a treasure trove of classic tunes including 'I Could Have Danced All Night,' 'On the Street Where You Live,' 'The Rain in Spain,' and 'I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face.'

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces artist additions for the 2015/16 season, with select cast and creative team members announced for Destiny of Desire, Oliver!, Sweat and All the Way as part of the theater's 66th season.

'The League of Extraordinary Blondes' features members of Improvisational Repertory Theatre Ensemble (IRTE) in an action-packed comedy adventure created and directed by Robert Baumgardner. The world of the play is a gripping adventure movie where the most famous blondes in the world lead different glamorous lives until a crisis strikes. Like the Avengers, they are then called together to find and defeat the evil villain behind the crisis. The show is stylized and cartoon-ish, incorporating white foam board cut-outs, plastic sheets and streamers, as well as a musical intermezzo. It will be presented by Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival September 16 to 20.

Woodshed Collective, leaders of audience immersive, site specific performance and creators of Twelve Ophelias ('A deconstructed masterstroke' - New York Press) The Tenant ('A great theatrical tapestry of vintage grit...a triumph of simultaneity and atmosphere' - Village Voice) , and The Confidence Man ('A breathtaking stunt! 5 STARS!' - Adam Feldman, TimeOutNY), present Empire Travel Agency, a unique theatrical experience that allows four audience members at a time to participate in the performance, taking them on a surreal quest through lower Manhattan. Tickets are free and performances begin August 19th with trips running six nights a week through September 27th. The audience's immersive experience begins by booking their tickets on empiretravelagency.com, where they'll reserve a spot on the new trip the agency is offering - 'The Hidden City Excursion.' This exclusive experience will begin at a payphone in Lower Manhattan, at which point the audience will be whisked away into the night.

Winner of the 2014 NYMF Developmental Reading Series, this Latin infused American musical is inspired by the true story of a Princeton Undergrad who was an undocumented child immigrant from the Dominican Republic. When Manuel gets a scholarship to study at Oxford, he's faced with the realization that he can't leave the USA. He takes on The Statue of Liberty in the fight of a lifetime; the high-stakes boxing match that is immigration today. Is Manuel worthy? No one is spared in this political comedy that pulls no punches about immigration reform and the American Dream.

Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews' INVISIBLE THREAD, formerly titled WITNESS UGANDA, is headed on the trip of a lifetime before it lands back in the States for its off-Broadway premiere at Second Stage this fall. The cast has surpassed its $45,000 crowdfunding goal and will be traveling to Uganda to connect with the students that inspired the show. A fresh look at WAITRESS: THE MUSICAL!

The Hypocrites are thrilled to launch their 2015-16 season with the Chicago premiere of the smash Broadway musical AMERICAN IDIOT, featuring music by Grammy Award-winning punk rock band Green Day, book by Green Day frontman/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer and lyrics by Armstrong, direction by Steven Wilson, musical direction by Andra Velis Simon and choreography by Katie Spelman. AMERICAN IDIOT will play August 28 - October 25, 2015 at The Den Theatre's Heath Main Stage, 1329 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood.
