Photo Coverage: Sarah Ruhl Honored with Steinberg Playwright Award

Just last night, Sarah Ruhl was honored with the 2016 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award  at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. The evening featured performances of Ruhl's work by Blair Brown, Kathleen Chalfant, Maria Dizzia, Jessica Hecht, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Polly Noonan and Joseph J. Parks. New York Premiere of MJ Kaufman's SAGITTARIUS PONDEROSA Enters Final Week at NAATCO

The OBIE Award-winning NAATCO, National Asian American Theater Company, concludes their 25th anniversary season with the New York Premiere of MJ Kaufman's Sagittarius Ponderosa. Ken Rus Schmoll directs an all-Asian American cast that includes Daniel K. Isaac (of TV's 'Billions'), Mia Katigbak, Glenn Kubota, Bex Kwan and Virginia Wing. This Off-Broadway limited engagement at 3LD (80 Greenwich Street at Rector) will continue through November 19th only.

Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres Robert Hastie today announces his inaugural season. The new season opens with Hastie directing William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar bringing Shakespeare back to the Crucible; this will be followed in the Studio by the winner of the new annual RTST Director Award Scheme Kate Hewitt directing the regional premiere of Nina Raine's Tribes.

Lincoln Center Theater's Platform Series, a forum for public discussion between Lincoln Center Theater artists and interested theatergoers, continues on Thursday, November 17 with William Finn, Composer and Lyricist of Falsettos, and Ira Weitzman, Lincoln Center Theater's Musical Theater Associate Producer. LCT's critically acclaimed production of FALSETTOS, produced in association with Jujamcyn Theaters, is currently playing on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theater (219 West 48th Street). 

Two World Premieres and More Set for Ma-Yi Theater Company's 2016-17 Season

Inis Nua Theatre Revives Dublin by LAMPLIGHT by Michael West from November 9-20, 2016

Inis Nua Theatre Company will team up with Drexel University's Mandell Professionals in Residence Project (MPiRP) to present a revival of Dublin by Lamplight by Michael West. Inis Nua's breakout hit from 2011 will be remounted with some familiar names, a grand two-level stage, and the talents of co-op students working side-by-side with the professional actors. Using commedia dell'arte make-up stylings and Storytellers theatre, the cast of six will portray 40 different characters in the fast-paced tale about the launch of the Irish National Theatre. Dublin by Lamplight runs November 9 to 20th at Drexel's Mandell Theater (3201 Chestnut Street).

Amerinda to Present THE WINTER'S TALE at HERE Arts Center

American Indian Artists Inc. (AMERINDA) will present a new production of William Shakespeare's THE WINTER'S TALE, directed by Madeline Sayet (Mohegan), with new songs written by Ty Defoe (Oneida/Ojibwe), previews begin Dec 2nd. Opening Night is slated for December 4th.

Level 11 Theatre is pleased to announce the Chicago Premiere of The Library by Scott Z. Burns. Performances will take place at The Den Theatre on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3 pm. Level 11 will make The Library a 'PAY WHAT YOU CAN' performance.
