The 2012 Tony Award Nominee for Best Play and Pulitzer Prize for Drama finalist, Other Desert Cities, comes to the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City tonight, March 5 through 30. Saturday March 8 is opening night of the play directed by Sidonie Garrett. She has previously directed numerous plays at the Unicorn Theatre, The Coterie, and American Heartland Theatre among others.

Andy Parkhurst and Michael Grayman describe their current production of Motherhood Out Loud as, "our Valentine to all the parents who have supported, inspired, and endured us." Opening night for Motherhood Out Loud, an Off-Broadway Kansas City premiere produced by Spinning Tree Theatre at the Off Center Theatre is Saturday February 8, with previews the two preceding nights.

The powerful and emotional play 'My Name is Asher Lev,' onstage at Unicorn Theatre, has been extended an extra week and will now play through May 19, rather than ending May 12 as originally scheduled. 'With such positive response from the audience, and overwhelming ticket sales, we can't help but extend the run of the show', said Cynthia Levin, Unicorn Theatre Producing Artistic Director. The American Heartland Theatre announced today that it will permanently close at the end of its current season. This 26th and final season is scheduled to conclude on August 25, 2013.

Excitement is building for Kansas City Rep's presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel, directed by Kyle Hatley, the theatre's associate artistic director. This is the musical theatre event that sparked delight in hearts of audience members and critics alike when it was first presented in 2011 by The Living Room (TLR), one of Kansas City's most imaginative small theatre companies. The Rep is now bringing TLR's beautifully re-envisioned Carouselto Spencer Theatre for a second production.

Main Street.
