The Pazinski family returns to Circle's stage in King O' the Moon by Tom Dudzick, the second play in a trilogy inspired by the author's childhood. Circle produced Dudzick's Over the Tavern in 2005 and The Last Mass at St. Casimir's in 2007. Ten years after Over the Tavern, this sequel takes place during the rebellious '60's as Apollo 11 is on its voyage to the moon. The Pazinski's come together as their lives seem to fall apart. Prior knowledge of this working-class family is not a prerequisite to appreciate the hilarious and heartfelt end to the three part series at Circle.

The third play in Circle Theatre's 35th anniversary season is Tom Dudzick's backstage comedy, DON'T TALK TO THE ACTORS. A budding playwright's dreams are swept away into a theatrical nightmare when his play is optioned for Broadway. Sticky Traps focuses on a small town not far from Kansas City, where a mother protects her gay son's honor when his funeral is protested by a local church. Her actions have unintended consequences that will test her whole family - and the power of their love -- in the face of hate. The production begins tonight, April 24th and runs through Sunday, May 24th at Copaken Stage in downtown Kansas City.

Broadway and Back, which highlights the quality in Quality Hill Playhouse, runs through March 29 at the Playhouse in Kansas City, Missouri. Producing Artistic Director J. Kent Barnhart selected the songs and directs the magnificent production. Broadway and Back is a celebration of movies that inspired or were inspired by Broadway Musicals. The production is part of the Playhouses 2014-15 season series, Hooray for Hollywood, Magical Music from the Movies.

From Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill made its journey to the Kansas City theater scene with the opening Saturday night February 14 at the White Theatre located at the Jewish Community Center in Overland Park. The White Theatre celebrates two first on their stage with Paul Hough directing the debut of From Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill and the first time the musical appeared at the theater. Hough directed the play in Los Angeles in 1985, winning the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Production and Direction. Hough was Director of Production for the American Heartland Theatre from 1996 until it closed its doors in 2013.
The Unicorn Theatre presents a Rolling World Premiere of Lasso of Truth at the theater located in Kansas City, Missouri. Johnny Wolfe directs the Lasso of Truth, written by Carson Kreitzer and co-produced with the University of Missouri at Kansas City Theatre. The show runs January 28 through February 15, with opening night on January 31.
