With masterful dancing and a delightful charm, Festival Ballet Theatre's Alice in Wonderland takes you on a heart-racing adventure. Lewis Carroll's classic tale comes magically to life with all your favorite characters – the lovable White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and the infamous Queen of Hearts. Take a journey down the Rabbit Hole, into Wonderland Garden and through the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, all adorned with whimsical sets, wildly realistic masks and colorful costumes. Choreographed by Emmy Award-winning choreographer Robert Sund to Jean Sibelius' lyrical melodies, Alice in Wonderland is an enchanting adventure that will delight children and adults alike.

ROLEX presents NEW YORK NEW YORK a helluva town - Career Transition For Dancers' 29th Anniversary Jubilee on Monday, October 6th, 2014 at 7:00 pm at New York City Center, 131 West 55 Street (btwn. 6th & 7th Aves.), NYC followed by dinner at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York. Angela Lansbury will receive the 2014 Rolex Dance Award. Special performance is added.

Retrospective, SLEEPING BEAUTY, New Works, Gala, Exhibits and More Among ABT's 75th Anniversary Programming

Plans were announced today for American Ballet Theatre's 75th Anniversary season by Kevin McKenzie, Artistic Director, and Rachel S. Moore, CEO. The 15-month long celebration will be highlighted by performances of ABT's historic repertoire presented during the Company's 2014 and 2015 seasons, a special PBS American Masters documentary by Ric Burns, a touring exhibit by the Library of Congress, a 75th Anniversary Gala and a new commemorative souvenir program.

Lisa Kron to Host 30th Annual Bessie Awards; Presenters and Performances Also Announced

NEW YORK, September 30, 2014 - The New York Dance and Performance Awards (The Bessies), NYC's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, announced today the host of the anniversary ceremony that is to be held at the legendary Apollo Theater. Broadway playwright, actress and 1993 Bessie awardee Lisa Kron will host the 30th Annual Bessie Awards. Produced in partnership with Dance/NYC, the awards will take place October 20, 7:30 p.m. Nominees will arrive starting 6:00 p.m. for Red Carpet press interviews and photo opportunities.

Paloma Herrera, Julie Kent and Xiomara Reyes to Retire from The American Ballet Theatre

Paloma Herrera, Julie Kent and Xiomara Reyes, Principal Dancers with American Ballet Theatre, have announced their retirements from the Company at the conclusion of the 2015 Metropolitan Opera House season in New York City. “These three unique ballerinas have each made such distinctive contributions to ABT throughout the years,” Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie stated. “With them, an era of our history resides. Their remarkable careers will be three more reasons to celebrate our 75th Anniversary Season.”

Paloma Herrera, Julie Kent and Xiomara Reyes, Principal Dancers with American Ballet Theatre, have announced their retirements from the Company at the conclusion of the 2015 Metropolitan Opera House season in New York City. The Atlantic City Ballet Presents VISIONS This Weekend

Three different parts of the world, three different ballets, one exciting evening of dance! The Atlantic City Ballet presents Visions, a diverse choreographic experience for the ballet lover and first timer. Ms. Papa's interpretation of music from different ethnic origins creates an evening where the audience is transported across the globe to experience other cultures through the magic of dance. Included in the program is Eclipse, a contemporary ballet that explores and celebrates the wonders of the summer solstice. From beginning to end Eclipse explores the human condition as people look towards the celebration of light and the effect it has on their relationships. Tango, a ballet in three movements captures the essence of this sultry, sexy, elegant dance and Drums, a vibrant interpretation of an African festival that is powered by the rhythm of traditional music from this region of the world.

Katie Brayben to Star in West End's BEAUTIFUL - THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, February

Katie Brayben will play the title role in the West End production of Beautiful - The Carole King Musicalopening at the Aldwych Theatre in February next year. Alan Morrissey will play King's husband and song-writing partner Gerry Goffin, with Lorna Want as song-writer Cynthia Weil, Glynis Barber as Genie Klein, King's mother, and Gary Trainor as music publisher and producer Don Kirshner. London previews beginning on 10 February 2015 and with the show currently booking to 13 June 2015. Press night will now take place on 24 February at 7pm. Final casting will be announced shortly.

American Ballet Theatre Offers “VIP Sweet Seats” for All Performances of THE NUTCRACKER at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House

VIP SWEET SEATS will be offered for each of the 13 performances of American Ballet Theatre's The Nutcracker at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, December 12-21, 2014. The VIP SWEET SEAT package includes premium front orchestra or front mezzanine performance seating and a commemorative souvenir program and holiday gift bag. In addition, the package includes pre-performance and intermission access to the Natman Room at BAM, where ticketholders will meet a Nutcracker character in costume prior to the performance.

Broadway dancer & choreographer Alex Sanchez has created a special number with some of the best dancers from the great white way for the show. The music has been composed by Steven Jamall, who is the Music Director and Supervisor for Rosie O'Donnell and her Rosie's Theater Kids.

The American Ballet Theatre Launches a YouTube Channel

American Ballet Theatre has launched the ABT YouTube Channel, under the channel name of "ABTBalletTheatre." Offering an in-depth and candid look at the Company, the ABT YouTube channel showcases current dancers in two or three minute vignettes. Taped segments explore experiences and points of view of ABT dancers, while adding to the experience of ABT performances with behind-the-scenes footage of rehearsals and day-to-day Company life. Videos featuring special events and Company activity will also be posted.
