What happens when you combine the disciplined artistry of ballet and Broadway's most beloved show stopping moments? You get a night of pure entertainment and an opportunity to see Broadway in a whole new way. Ballet Goes Broadway is AC Ballet's Artistic Director, Phyllis Papa's, new creation. Inspired by the Broadway shows she would see as a child, this ballet is made up of the music from the shows that moved Ms. Papa to have a career in the performing arts. This ballet also marks the premier of AC Ballet's Ensemble, a six piece instrumental group that will accompany the dancers. Headed by Musical Director, Paul LoPresti, the ensemble is just the beginning of a journey to bring live music to all the performances. "We hope that this type of ballet, with familiar music, will entice audiences to come and see our more traditional ballets." says Ms. Papa.
