The Alliance Theatre, in partnership with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), presents a free reading of Dear Dr. King, an original script written by Pearl Cleage in collaboration with high school Collision Project students. Created out of the Alliance Theatre Collision Project and inspired by the classic film It's a Wonderful Life, this provocative piece uses the unique voice of teenagers to explore issues of legacy and the power that each individual life can play in effecting social change. The performances are part of the ADL's annual No Place For Hate Summit, which will take place today, January 21, 2013.

Dallas Theater Center will conclude its four-year Shakespeare cycle with one of the playwright's greatest tragedies King Lear, a co-production with Trinity Repertory Company and directed by DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty. King Lear opens for previews tonight, January 18 and runs through Sunday, February 18.

Manhattan Theatre Club will present its annual Winter Benefit, an evening of cocktails and dinner followed by a special one-night-only cabaret-style show featuring Broadway's brightest stars on Monday, January 28, 2013 at The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Fredrick P. Executive Producer Mike Isaacson announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for its 2013 Season, which opens on June 17 with Monty Python's Spamalot. Theater of the Stars announced its 2013-2014 season today that includes Theater of the Stars' production of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, BUDDY: The Buddy Holly Story, the family favorite musical CATS, the classic Broadway musical ANYTHING GOES and DREAMGIRLS starring Jennifer Holliday. The return of the popular STOMP as a season special, will round out the exciting season.

After a sold-out world premiere production last summer, Larry Larson and Eddie Levi Lee's The Waffle Palace: Smothered, Covered and Scattered 24/7/365 returns to Horizon Theatre for an open run starting tonight, January 11, 2013. ArtsATL praised the show as "an easy-to-eat mixture of the funny, familiar, corny, nostalgic, and odd," perfect for theatre-goers and Waffle House regulars alike.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded a grant to the Alliance Theatre to create a three-year Playwright In Residence staff position. Designed to advance the role of playwrights in American theatre, the goals of the residencies include providing playwrights with space, time and resources; and positively influencing the working environment of theatres by embedding playwrights on their staffs.

The Alliance National Graduate Playwriting Competition continues to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a full production for the competition winner and staged readings for four competition finalists. BIKE AMERICA, the ninth competition winner, will premiere on the Hertz Stage February 1 - 24, 2013. Opening night is February 6, 2013. BIKE AMERICA is written by Mike Lew from the Juilliard Drama Division and will be directed by Mortiz von Stuelpnagel.

Bring It On: The Musical will play the final performance of its limited engagement today, December 30, 2012, after 21 previews and 173 regular performances at Broadway's St. James Theatre.
