Public Theater Continues Forum Series with Sarah Lewis, Jose Rivera & Carrie Mae Weems, 4/7

The Public Theater will continue its Spring Public Forum series with an exciting new Public Forum Solo, SARAH LEWIS: PICTURES AND PROGRESS, on Monday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Joe's Pub at The Public. Pam MacKinnon, Sarah Ruhl, Mark Brokaw & More Set for Conversation Series Following AND BABY MAKES SEVEN

New Ohio Theatre Artistic Director Robert Lyons, in association with Purpleman Theater, has announced Baby Talk, a weekly conversation series which follows all Wednesday night performances of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel's And Baby Makes Seven. Produced by Gwynn MacDonald, Loren Noveck and Purpleman Theater, Baby Talk will feature playwrights, performers, thinkers and activists who will discuss some of the issues touched on in And Baby Makes Seven, as well as Vogel's career as a playwright and her influence as a teacher and mentor. Participants include Tony award-winner Pam MacKinnon, Sarah Ruhl, Mark Brokaw and more. Complete details can be found below.

The Public Theater announced today that single tickets are now on sale for the 2014 spring season, beginning on February 18 with ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, the exciting international collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company and GableStage in Miami. Edited and directed by MacArthur Fellow Tarell Alvin McCraney, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA will run through Sunday, March 23, with an official press opening on Wednesday, March 5 in the Anspacher Theater.

Ken Barnett, Susan Bott & More to Star in AND BABY MAKES SEVEN at New Ohio Theater, 3/11-4/12

New Ohio Theatre Artistic Director Robert Lyons in association with Purpleman Theater have announced casting for Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel's And Baby Makes Seven. Marc Stuart Weitz will direct ensemble including Ken Barnett (Wonderful Town, Julie Taymor's The Green Bird) as Peter, Susan Bott (Julie Kramer's The Best of Everything) as Ruth and Constance Zaytoun (Moby Pomerance's Broken Hands) as Anna. And Baby Makes Seven is an uproarious and timely comedy that has not been seen professionally in New York in 20 years. Performances will take place March 11-April 12 at the New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street, between Washington and Greenwich Streets). Critics are welcome as of March 19 for an opening of March 23.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of a Revised and Complete Edition of Angels in America by Tony Kushner. Available in both paperback and hardcover, this new edition contains both Part One: Millennium Approaches and Part Two: Perestroika in the revised versions that were performed in the 2010 Off-Broadway revival, as well as a new author's introduction.

Tony Kushner to Receive WGAW's 2013 Paul Selvin Award for LINCOLN Screenplay

Writers Guild and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Tony Kushner has been chosen to receive the WGAW's 2013 Paul Selvin Award for his adapted screenplay for Lincoln. Named after the late Selvin, who served as counsel to the Guild, the award is given to the WGA member whose script best embodies the spirit of the constitutional and civil rights and liberties, which are indispensable to the survival of free writers everywhere. Kushner will be recognized, along with other honorees, at the Writers Guild Awards ceremony on Sunday, February 17, at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of Ping Chong's Undesirable Elements: Real People, Real Lives, Real Theater. The volume includes four pieces of the Undesirable Elements series, as well as a section on methodology, interviews with collaborators, a complete production history and an introduction by Alisa Solomon. The publication is released in conjunction with the 20th Anniversary of the Undesirable Elements series, and Ping Chong & Company is celebrating in NYC with a festival at La MaMa October 18 - November 4.
