Veteran film and theatre producer Sandy Stern, with Louis Hobson, Jake Groshong and Katie Tomlinson Diamond of Seattle's Balagan Theatre, will present a closed workshop performance today, July 12, of Jeff Thomson and Jeremy Desmon's new rock musical Pump up the Volume, directed by Tony Award and Drama Desk Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies,South Pacific) and Dave Solomon, with choreography by Christopher Gattelli and music direction by James Sampliner (Legally Blonde, The Wedding Singer).
Casting highlights for Vassar & New York Stage and Film Powerhouse Theater's second Mainstage production, Mozhan Marno's When The Lights Went Out, and the Martel Musical workshop of the new Simon Rich/Peter Lerman musical inspired by The Brooklyn Hero Supply Company, have been announced. After last summer's hugely successful "Broadway Sings The 90's," 'The TRL Generation' returns at the Canal Room on Sunday, March 3rd at with "Broadway Loves Britney," a song and dance extravaganza paying tribute to our generation's princess of pop, Ms. Britney Spears. The 9:30PM concert will be produced and musically directed by Benjamin Rauhala and directed by Kyle Fox, with musical arrangements and orchestrations by Joey Contreras, Benjamin Rauhala, and Charlie Rosen.
